Finally, it was the day in which we would all meet up to discuss the plan we would carry out. We were next to the portal to the human realm with Subaru and Shu.

"Shu..." Subaru said hesitantly, "you used this?" He then turned into his angered self, glaring at Shu and pointing at me. "You had HER use this?!?!"

"I use it all the time, there is no danger to it," Shu defended himself.

"I do not care if you use it or not!! IT IS HER I WORRY ABOUT!!" screamed Subaru.

"Why would you be worried?" I interjected, clueless as to what he referred to.

"THIS," shouted Subaru, "was shown to us as infants as a way out if there ever came a dangerous situation. We were told it is to be used only under extreme circumstances in which there is NO OTHER OPTION than escape!!"

"You are so loud..." complained Shu.

"Let him be," I shut Shu up. "Now Subaru, where is the danger there?"

"It is only for that because it could take you anywhere in the world, in any of the realms... It may be so that you appear absolutely anywhere, even where there is no portal to return. Even at the bottom on the ocean," Subaru explained to me, being calm and sweet in his explanation while talking to me. But then he placed both his hands on my shoulders and looked lost for a moment, whispering, "You could have drowned..." He began to apply more and more pressure on my shoulders, "You could have drowned," he repeated, louder. He turned his head only to Shu. "SHU SHE COULD HAVE DROWNED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!!!!! YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HER".

Shu looked anger, shifting his gaze from him to me, changing for a rather worried expression for how Subaru grabbed me. The pressure in my shoulders was nearly unbearable, and I winced. Shu opened his mouth to talk, but I signaled with a light shake of the head that he should not, and he complied.

Slowly, I raised my hand and placed them on top of Subaru's. The silver haired boy turned his head to me, anger still reigning his mind. I smiled at him, and he relaxed lightly, the force by which he grabbed me decreasing.

"Subaru," I said calmly. "On what does it depend? Where you turn up?"

"It depends on the mind of the one who runs through the portal. It has to be a very strong determined mind, extremely focused as to where they wish to go. What were you thinking about when you crossed? It can be so easy to get lost in there..." Subary trailed off.

I could not help how my gaze shifted to Shu. It had been him I had been thinking about every time. How I wished to follow him, even the first time. I blushed slightly, and Shu did so as well, reading my thoughts. He smiled, still, victoriously for some reason.

Subaru had not noticed this exchange between Shu and I, he was very much concerned about the portal issue. I turned my attention back to him.

"I... I do not know where I could turn up. I do not think I will be strong enough I- I might turn up inside with her, I might turn up anywhere... Alone..." he spoke. I had never seen Subaru like this. He was so very afraid.

"Subaru," I said, rubbing his hands with my own very softly. From the corner of my eye I registered Shu's eyebrows raising, an unpleasant expression on his face. My gaze, however, was completely focused on that of Subaru's, who returned it to me. "Do you trust me?" I asked him.

"Yes," he replied, without a moment's hesitation.

The pressure on my shoulders was light now, so light that I could peel of Subaru's hands and hold them between us, ignoring the pain in my shoulders. I held his hands tightly.
