Random Guest POV

As cued by the Vampire King beforehand, the whole of the guests were surrounding the three persons that had suddenly appeared in the middle of the ballroom. He had told us that we should assemble in such a way since the main entertainment of the night would be taking place soon. I had never imagined he meant this.

In the middle of the circle, stood Reiji, the Vampire King's second son, who soon retreated to the outskirts of the crowds. Alone then, were Shu, the eldest Sakamaki son, wearing a surprised and shocked look that soon shifted to a murderous expression pointed directly at his Father, and the new bride Ayame, kneeling on the ground and holding on to Shu's hand. She had changed entirely from what we had seen of her before. Her dressed was dirty all over, her hair a mess, falling over her face which was already directed towards the ground giving us no chance to see what her expression was. She did not move at all, not even a centimetre, as everyone watched her. To be honest, I do not think she was taking in the situation. She seemed devastated.

"Come on son, do not give me that look," teased the Vampire King, who stood now closer to both of the children. He smiled triumphantly. "After all, you are the one in the wrong here, trying to steal my beloved bride."

"LIAR!" Shu roared, standing in front of Ayame, in between her and Karl Heinz-sama. "You do not love her! You do not love at all!"

"That may be the case," the Vampire King said seriously, regretfully even, but then smiled a gleam of a smile once more. "But whether I do or do not, you can do nothing about it. I have ruined your plans, dear son."

The Vampire King then turned to address the whole of us, and as soon as he did so, Shu turned to look at Ayame, and finding her in such an unresponsive state, he knelt down in front of her, still shielding him, not caring if his Father struck him there and then, and began to whisper things to her that I could not make out, although it was clear she did not answer. The attention of everyone was soon taken away from this scene, and pointed right at the man, no, the vampire who stood tall before the children, not even giving them a second glance.

"Dear guests, I will now tell you everything that has transpired until now so that you may understand the situation and rejoice with me at how I have recovered my bride. You see, dear Ayame here, she has been meeting up with my eldest son for years now away from the mansion to play, as children do. It seems, however, that my innocent bride fell over his tricks and began to love this evil son of mine, who wanted her for himself, seeing how beautiful and different she was," the Vampire King beamed.

I could see how across the whole room all the remaining Sakamaki sons shifted uncomfortably, some looking shocked as well other looking sad.

"I never tricked her into anything!" Shu raged, turning his head to face the Vampire King, who gave him no notice.

"As I was saying," Karl Heinz-sama continued. "This was going on behind my back. Of course, poor Ayame here has nothing to be blamed for, my son did inherit my charismatic traits," he laughed, as did all of us guests who feared not to laugh along him. "Either way, it seems they planed to elope tonight, and they would have done so if it had not been for my trustworthy son, Reiji. As a good boy, he listened in on them, following closely when they met, and then recounted everything to me. Knowing they had this plan amid their hands, I told him to follow them once more tonight, and bring them to me. And here they are!"

The whole room clapped at this, and I did so as well, not really knowing what else to do. What was the Vampire King planning to do now? Why had he made this a public affair and not handled it privately?

"You might be wondering now, why did I involve all of you esteemed guests in this tonight?" asked the Vampire King with a wide smile, as if reading my mind. In an instant, his smile was gone, replaced by a calculated yet clearly angered glare. "This is for everyone in this realm to know and understand what happens when anyone crosses me and goes against my will, even if it is my own family," he said.

Every single guest gulped, nervous and in fear, as we felt the great King's rage above us, not knowing if he would take it out on us on a whim.

His face now emotionless, the Vampire King went towards where Shu and Ayame knelt together, Ayame still motionless, although they still held hands. Shu turned and once more stood protectively in front of the kneeling girl, letting go of her hand, hers finally falling to the ground as if dead.

Shu spread his arms wide, his face that of a warrior. It was the same for Karl-sama either way, since he said:

"Do you think I will hurt her now, Shu? She is an asset of mine, I have no intention of harming her right now. Who I will hurt now, however, is you."

It was clear from where I was standing that the youngest son, Subaru, wanted to come and stand beside his brother, and began to do so, but as soon as he moved a hand was placed on his shoulder, stopping him. It belonged to Laito, who pulled his brother back into the crowd, knowing there was no way even all of them together could defeat the Vampire King.

Karl-sama was soon in front of his eldest son, staring down at him since he was taller. He locked his cold golden eyes with his son's blue eyes as he began to speak.

"Shu Sakamaki, you have enraged your Father, and as such, you shall receive punishment. Killing you right now would be too merciful of me, and not even you, my son, will receive such honour. I will have you chained, locked up in a chamber, with no communications, no visitors, no contact with another soul for years. There will be no sunlight, so you will not know of the passing of time. You will not be fed at all for as long as your punishment lasts, but worry not, you will not starve to death... you cannot, as a pure vampire," the Vampire King said, and then his face brightened lightly and a slight smile came to his lips. "Ah, yes. All you will be able to do for the following years is think about what you have done, and if your dear Ayame is alright, consuming your mind about it because, who knows, I might just kill her on a whim after all. All part of your own punishment, of course."

At this, Shu seemed ready to kill his Father, and had he been powerful enough to do so, he probably would have done so at that instant. Instead, he only stepped closer to his father, showing him he had no fear of him, and replied.

"I will endure whatever you wish to do to me, Father," he spat. "But listen to me carefully when I say this. Harm Ayame, and I will make sure you are sorry about it."

Gasps were heard across the room at the insolence of the eldest son defying his Father. The Vampire King's face was rendered emotionless once more, as in one swift move he lifted his son up into the air by his neck, squeezing is tightly, Shu being unable to free himself as much as he kicked and punched.

"It seems to me," Karl-sama said calmly, "that you have not understood. I will do whatever I desire with my bride and with you. It seems your punishment was too light, and it was, I did try to be nice as your Father. But I have no more patience with you. You will be slowly dismembered by me before you are locked away, and it begins right now," he said, as he took distance with his free arm, put his fingers together and aimed them right to Shu's chest.

He was just about to lunge, when the audience began to whisper. Annoyed the Vampire King turned to the whispers and roared: "WHATEVER ARE YOU INTERRUPTING ME FOR????"

The whole room fell silent once more, but most eyes were not on the Vampire King. They were on the body of the girl, who stood behind him, her face still down, her arms limp beside her body. Shu took notice of her and looked worried, not about herself, but for the girl. She glowed red. Her brown hair had turned into a red shade as well, as she lifted her face. Her eyes, crimson, piercing through the souls of anyone who crossed them, shone brightly.

The Vampire King finally turned around after seeing the change in Shu's expression, having been to involved ion the punishment to have noticed anything before. His eyes widened at the sight of his bride before him.

"It must be me," said Ayame tilting her head to the side and smiling a crazed Cheshire grin.
