'In the black dress I chose today, please color me with your own color. Make me a masterpiece.'

REPLY: I'm really really really sorry! 😣

I think I've apologised a thousand times to Jongdae by now. It's my first time ever getting asked out on a date, but it's also the first time that I turn down the offer.

JD: It's okay.

I couldn't tell from his reply if he was disappointed or not, but I totally am. I was hoping for him to suggest another date, but he didn't make the move. Moreover it was Sunday, a perfect day for a date... but *sobs*. I know I missed a precious opportunity and nobody is ever stupid like me to turn down a date with a great man... but MEL... MEL IS MORE IMPORTANT.

I need to drill that in my head to set myself right. Enough with the Jongdae thoughts.

According to Mel, we are going shopping in the day and clubbing at night. She had the day completely planned out - the mall we were going to visit, the restaurant she wanted to bring me to and how long we were going to spend at every place. Simply speaking, she is the perfect organiser while I am just her sloppy best friend.

"I don't need new clothes, Mel... How many times must I repeat myself? I'm perfectly happy with my wardrobe," I whined as I tried to shake off her grip. For the past 15 minutes, she had been dragging me around the mall by my wrist and I, being the unwilling participant, had been trudging every footstep.

"You don't have a say in this. Your wardrobe sucks and you don't have any clothes good enough for clubbing," she demanded. "Oh! Forever New!" She beamed to herself, pulling me towards the shop she saw.

"I DO have dresses at home! Did you not see them?"

"Yeah, I've seen everything and they looked like you picked them up from Salvation Army."

"That's just hurting my ego. I'm sure there's a piece that looks okay. Seriously, I don't need new clothes!" I begged to no avail. I threw an excuse from time to time but not once did Mel respond. She just kept on walking around the store, browsing and putting hangers on me to see what suited. "Oh, I remember the halter neck I wore to CBX's concert the other time. That was okay!" I attempted once more.

"That dress is too ordinary, Rosie." Finally, she responded to me.

"I think it's okay! I can wear that! Come on!" I prodded her shoulders but she continued to ignore me.

"MEL!" I yelled into her ear.

"OH my GOD YOU!" She yelped back. "Look," she started nicely, turning to me now. "Your clothes suck and I, your stylist, have every right and responsibility to deal with this disaster. We're both going in the club looking hot and sassy."

I gave her one big sigh.

"Okay, sister. Just one! I'm getting only ONE piece of cloth!" I warned, strictly raising a finger to her face. If I didn't do this, she would be nagging me all day.

...

I stared at the bill, displeased with the amount showing on the cashier screen.

$302.20

I exhaled depressingly and scanned the clothes piled on the counter that were mine-to-be. 2 jeans, 3 dresses, and 4 tops - all ready to go. How the hell did Mel persuade me to get them all again?

"Yay!!! New and pretty clothes for my Rosie~!" Mel squealed in delight. "Pack all of them for me... except this black dress, please." Mel requested to the staff wearing her generous smile, then she turned to me. "You, my dearest bestie," she said, shoving the new black cloth into my hands. "You're wearing this now."
