Song: Sober - BIGBANG ✨
'Time is so damn slow. I'm just growing old, I live like I'm dead. I have so many damn things to do but I have nothing that I want to do.'

Midnight
I set foot into the dark interior where heavy basses pounded vigorously. The nasty beat drumming into my ear was making me extremely uncomfortable, and the flashy lights were just disturbing. The way it wildly flickered irked my eyes so much that I had to keep it strained. Why do people like to club again?
I took in a deep breath and almost wanted to choke back out. The club air reeked so badly of smoke and alcohol. Occasionally, I felt people brushing past me, looking either tipsy or drunk. The club opened not long ago and there were fools already in that state. Just, wow.
I knew really quickly that I disliked this place. I mean, why should I be hanging out with a bunch of intoxicated strangers in this unhygienic compartment? Didn't sound like fun to me. I gripped onto Mel's arm tight like a clamp, afraid that I would lose her in the crowd.
Unlike me, she radiated confidence. With her head held high, she sashayed through people. There wasn't even a need to push our way through because boys naturally made way for her. I stuck right behind her so that I could get past the crowd safely. "Where are we going?" I shouted at the top of my lungs but still barely heard my own voice.
"We're going to the second floor. It's less crowded upstairs and I know someone there," Mel had to raise her voice as well. Know someone? "Who?" I shouted into her ear again.
"Bartender! He's a friend!" She yelled back. See, this is another reason why I dislike clubs. If we had to converse like this all the time, I am surely going to lose my voice and my patience. Tired of questioning further, I followed until she brought me to sit at the end corner of a bar. I watched Mel approach a young-looking bartender, talking for a bit before directing his attention towards me. He made his way towards me and I took a closer look at him, spotting that he had a faint but noticeable goatee. Fun fact, I always thought that guys with goatees looked hot... until Jongdae came along.
Mel came back with him and he was there in front of me but behind the bar counter because he was still on duty. We exchanged looks under the dim, flickery lights and I wasn't expecting a good impression from him, but he seemed more decent than I thought. Maybe because he looked clean and neat in his attire unlike other guys scrambling around here. Not bad, I thought to myself.
"Minho, this is Rosie, and Rosie, this is Minho. Say hi!" Mel gestured to me and then to him, introducing us to each other. She leaned over to my ear and whispered, "anyway, don't you think he's cute?" I was going to talk back but she pulled away and left me there with an evil grin, then turning to smile at the guy called Minho.
I, being the awkward potato, gave a quick wave to Minho before throwing dagger eyes at Mel again. Like what's with this sudden introduction? I didn't need to make more friends. It didn't look too weird initially until she started hinting to me that he was 'cute'. How very suspicious...
"Hi Rosie, nice to meet you." He greeted me first in a deep, mature voice.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you too." I offered him a small smile and bowed a little before excusing myself, dragging Mel away with me.
"Hey hey hey hey hey wait up!" She rattled away, but she knew for sure why I pulled her out. Until we came to a corner where the club music sounded more distant, I let her go.
