"No," Jason said, staring down at my hand that intertwined with Jongdae's.

"We didn't ask," I firmly responded. This was me finally mustering the courage to reveal our relationship to Jason. Jongdae and I had discussed about it, and we thought that it wouldn't be a bad idea to let him know about us. We wanted to be the ones telling him before he finds out through someone else. So we walked into his office hand in hand expecting this reaction from him. But no matter what he said, we weren't here to negotiate.

"No means no, guys. You already know why! I won't allow you to reveal this in public and ruin Jongdae-"

"-Jason, we're not here to ask for your permission," I interrupted him.

"And you really don't care what would happen to Jongdae when the media finds out about this?" He glared at me and I glared back, not going soft about this anymore.

"I only care about what Jongdae wants. The media is not important to me. And I respect you a lot, Jason. That's why we came here to tell you first, that I'm not letting go of his hand anymore."

Jongdae turned to me, looking impressed. That's right, I am learning to protect my love.

"Break up, you two." Jason stubbornly demanded. "Break it up or you're not coming back to work, Rosie."

Okay, he was downright threatening me this time. I felt Jongdae squeeze my hand tighter as he took a step forward to speak up.

"Don't be ridiculous, Jason. Our relationship has nothing to do with her working here."

"Me being ridiculous? You dating her is a million times more ridiculous and infuriating to the entire world! You really don't care about your fans anymore, do you?!"

"We don't have to reveal this to the public yet. We can date in secret and keep a low profile so if you could just loosen up a bit and-"

"Date in secret? Don't make me laugh, " he chuckled fakely. "And how long do you think you'll last that way without getting caught? You think it's that easy? You're so damn famous that the media would even write a whole damn article about you breathing! I'm not going to repeat myself anymore. Keep your puppy feelings to yourself and break it up OR," he turned to me with serious eyes. "You're fired, Rosie."

If I was the old me, I would have been shot to the ground when he abused his authority like that. But now, I was not one bit threatened. First of all, how dare he call this a puppy love?

"You don't have to fire me, Jason. I have no intention to stay," I announced, and the eyes of both men diverted to me immediately.

"What?" Jongdae looked at me with concern.

"What are you saying right now?" Jason fidgeted in his chair as well, his voice sounding a little shaky.

"You heard me. I'm not signing the new contract," I finally declared. This was my real decision, not a rash one just to fight him.

Jongdae pulled me back before I could continue. "What are you saying? You're not quitting because of this!"

I put my hand over his for assurance and whispered back, "it's not because of us, I promise."
