Chapter 43: Jumpscare

James is currently recording a you-tube video and he told me earlier that he'll be on vrchat incase he might need something from me. Which gave me an idea, I decide to scare him. I know, I know, it's super cruel but I can't help myself :3.

I start tip toeing to his office while holding my phone to film his reaction and I slowly start opening the door and of course, I instantly hear screaming. I breath in relief since the door didn't make any noise and he's wearing his headphones so that's good. I laugh and check the computer monitor and see that he's on a rollercoaster and that the camera is on. I wait for a few seconds and walk up to him and shake his shoulders and start screaming like a little girl.

"FUCK!" James screams, almost falling down and waving his hands around. I laugh out loud and he takes off his headset.

"Jesus christ (y/n)!" I smile, giggle then kiss him on the cheek.

"I'm sorry I couldn't help myself." I say then turning toward his computer.

"Hi stream and hello vrchat friends." I say waving to the camera . I see the twitch chat saying hi as well and talking about my scare and I hear faint hellos and hi's in James's headset.

"Sorry if I scared you guys too, by the way." I say laughing and smiling.

"God (y/n)....well I have to keep recording."
"Oh ok. Sorry once again." I say hugging him. We both say our goodbyes and I head out of his office. I stop recording as I let out a little giggle.

"(Y/N) why did you post the video of you scaring me?" James says as he sighs, as we both eat our breakfast on our dinner table.

I laugh. "Well, sorry. I had to film it....plus I'm pretty sure your used to people seeing you scared....." I say as I try not to laugh.

"Heh. I guess your right." He says then kisses my lips. I blush and then we both laugh.

Then there was a moment of awkward silence as both continue to eat our food. Once we were almost done I hear James cough. I look up. He's blushing. Awe.

"(Y/N) I was just wondering if you wanted to go out tonight?" He says scratching the back of his neck and looking down.

I smile and gaze into his eyes. I giggle.

"Of course James.....why are you so shy all of a sudden?" I say holding his hand across the table.

"Well....I kind of have a surprise for you tonight." He says finally looking up. I smile.

"Ok...."

For the rest of the day, as usual me and James went to the cow chop warehouse and they all filmed a few videos and did few other stuff. And then we both went home to do our own things. I filmed a video for my channel and started editing and so did James.

6:00 pm ~

I wore a dark red jean skirt, a plain black t-shirt that's tucked in, a black leather jacket, and a pair of short high heeled black boots. I had my hair down and brought a little bag and wore simple makeup as well.

As I sit down in front of my mirror and finish my finishing touches, I wonder what James's surprise is. Is- is he, gonna break up with me? No, no...I can't think of that. I hear a knock on the door and I jump up in shock. I sigh, and stand up and fix my skirt and open the door.

I open it to see James in a white button up and the sleeves are pulled up to his elbows, his shirt is tucked into a pair of black dress pants and he of course wore his black sneakers. I smile and I see him look me up and down. I blush and he grabs my hand.

"You look beautiful." He says, then kisses my cheek. I instantly smell is beautiful cologne and I sigh.

"Thank you, you look very h-handsome...." I say smiling. James chuckles.

"Shall we go?" I nod.

8:36 pm

As me and James sit down on a blanket that's laid out on the grass. I look over the night city of Los Angeles. Although me and him aren't in the same cliff in Colorado, where we had our first date, and our first kiss it still gives the same feel and I still love it. As long as I'm here with James, I'm happy.

We finished our dinner that we just had and I'm just laying my back against James's back as we both talk about random things.

"So...what's your surprise James?" I say looking up at him.

He smirks. "Stand up babe." I stand up and so does he. He grabs a blindfold out of his pocket and puts it around my head and covers my eyes.

"Hey! James what are you doing?!" I say protesting.

"Shhh. Jesus, your gonna ruin the surprise. Just remove them when I tell you to. Ok babe?" I nod slowly as I bite my lip in anticipation.

I wait for a few seconds. But it feels like eternity.

"O-Ok....y-you can remove them now." James stutters. I bite my lip and remove the blindfold. I squint and adjust to the brightness. I raise an eyebrow since he's not standing in front of me. I then slowly look down and see him....kneeling down....holding out a red box with a silver ring inside. I widen my eyes in shock. Is this really happening?!

"J-James?" I say almost crying tears of joy.

"(Y/N). I know we've been through so much for the past years. And I'm truly sorry for everything I've done to you but, just know that I never stopped loving you. I'll always remember the first time we met. I remember our first date, first kiss, all the laughs we shared, smiles, everything. I'll always love you no matter what.....s-so will you please marry me (Y/N)?" He says as a few tears fall down on his cheeks.

I smile and gaze into his eyes and nod.

"Yes, Yes! James of course." I say kneeling down to kiss him. He kisses me back and he lifts me up and spins me around. We both pull apart and he wipes away my tears that I didn't even notice fall down. He smiles and grabs my left hand and slides the ring onto my ring finger.
