Chapter 34

I was awaken by Lilly and I shoved her for waking me up. We were in the living room and we must've fell asleep waiting for Mum. I stood up quickly and went with Lilly to the kitchen. Mum was there with John and Ryan.

I saw the ring on her finger and she had a huge smile on her face. We rushed to her and hugged her tightly.

"I'm happy for you," I said.

"When are you planning to get married?" Lilly asked.

"Next summer," Mum said.

"I'm going to quickly get changed for school," I said.

I went upstairs and changed my oxygen tank. I shouldn't have slept with it because it wasn't made to use at night. I was supposed to use the oxygen concentrator at night.

After I got changed, I went to school. I walked in. I was used to getting the stares from some people and from other people sad smiles. There was a bundle of girls at my locker. They normally met up there and I've recently never been there in the morning so it might be weird if I go there.

I spotted Kylie there and I decided to go. I walked towards them and they all acknowledged that I was there.

"Hey Alexa," some of them spoke.

"Hi," I replied, smiling.

"We're just talking about the school dance next week, are you going to go?" One asked.

"Probably not," I said.

"You should defo go!" One said, smiling.

I smiled back and shrugged my shoulders. Kylie came and we walked away from the group. She put her hand around my shoulders.

"Why don't you come to the dance?" She asked.

"For a start I don't have anyone to go with and secondly I don't think I have the energy, I literally feel tired all the time," I said.

"Please come," she pleaded.

The bell rang and normally we'd have to go first lesson but we had our maths mock. We checked our seatings and headed to the hall. Many people were already sat down in their seats.

I walked to my seat and sat down. I looked around for Tyler and I couldn't see him anywhere. The invigilators gave out the papers and we began to fill it in.

An hour and a half later, the exam finished. We all left the room after our papers were collected in. I left the hall and found Tyler standing with Landon. He looked extremely nervous.

"Did you do the mock?" I asked.

"Yeah, it was actually okay," he said.

"I agree," I said.

"Come with me," he said.

I followed him to the smoker's room and we sat down. He looked really anxious. He was playing with his hands and he started to scratch the back of his head.

"What's up?" I asked.

"I wanted to know if you.." He began saying.

"If I what?" I asked.

"If you... wanted to revise with me for our English mock," he said.

He laughed nervously.

"Erm yes, okay," I said.

He coughed and then the bell rang, indicating the start of next lesson. I had English so I said bye to Tyler and headed to my English class. I had missed a lot of English lessons due to me not being in but hopefully I'll pass my mocks if I revise a lot.

I sat at the back and I knew that some random person would come and sit besides me so I put my bag onto the chair. My bag was special enough to have a seat.

I worked hard all lesson, annotating extracts and making inferences. English was a lesson where you had to really think hard and it was not my favourite subject.

At the end of the day, I went with Tyler to his because he wanted to revise with me. He came in his car today and we picked Ariana up first and then we went to his.

"I swear to god, revising is such a bore," Tyler said.

"It's the only way we'll pass," I said.

After a couple of hours, I headed home. I had dinner and went straight to bed. I was really tired. I went on my phone and saw that a lot of people were talking about the school dance.

I kind of hoped Tyler would ask me to go with him but that's stupid. Why would he want to go with me? He'd rather go with someone prettier and someone who doesn't have tubes going into them. I guess some things aren't meant to be.

I fell asleep almost instantly, hoping there'd be a time where I'd feel happier and without a problem.

But we all know, life isn't fair.

I haven't updated in ages
The weather is awful here. It's raining and it's freezing.

I hate going school and I also hate summer holidays. I'm weird like that.
