Hannah led me to a room that had 'Store Room' written outside. I gripped onto the trolley tightly. I suddenly felt uncomfortable and she sensed that I was.
"It'll be okay, everyone's really nice," she said.
We went inside the room and the room looked no different to the smoker's room if I'm honest. There was about 3 people sat on tables. Two of them were guys.
"Everyone, meet Alexa," Hannah said.
Hannah sat down and I sat on an empty table.
"I'm Callum, so what are you in for?" A guy said.
He was talking as if we were in prison. It felt no different to be honest. I was trapped here and couldn't leave. Criminals are trapped in prison and can't leave.
"Radiotherapy," I said.
"Hmm, you got the good one, I have to go through chemo which have the worst side effects ever," he said.
"Tell me about it," Hannah said, pointing at her bald head.
"I've got a brain tumour and I've been in hospital for months," Callum said.
"I've got lung cancer," I said.
"Can you not breathe? Is that why you have those tubes going into your nose?" Hannah asked.
"I can't breathe but I'm hoping to get better, I've got a school dance coming up," I said.
"Ben here has prom coming up but he won't go," Callum said.
"Why would I go if I don't want to?" Ben asked, rolling his eyes.
"Ben is twins with Belle," Hannah said.
Belle waved at me.
"You both have cancer?" I asked.
"Yeah, I have leukaemia and Ben has lung cancer like you," Belle said.
"Are you going to the prom?" I asked.
"Yes, I'm going to the prom because the doctors said I'm going to die so I know life is short so of course I'll be going to the prom because it might be my last one," Belle said.
"Did the doctors say you were going to die?" I asked.
"They said its highly likely I will die but I'm trying to stay positive," she said.
"How about you, Ben?" I asked.
"I'm getting a transplant," he said.
"Really?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Does that mean I can get one too?" I asked.
"Maybe, you should ask your doctor," he said.
I felt elated that I could get better. I felt more positive than I ever had in my life. I could actually get better and go back to living a normal and happy life.
We all talked between us for ages until Hannah decided we should get back to bed. I went to my room and I fell asleep. I was more relaxed that I normally was. Maybe things were looking up.
**The Next Day**
I woke up feeling so tired but I was determined to get through today. I needed to see Dr Ray but I guess I'll have to try seeing him after the radiotherapy session.
