Chapter 31

It was Friday. I have had an absolutely tiring week of radiotherapy. Tyler came to me to each one which helped Mum a lot because it meant she wasn't continually asking for time off. I put on a white top and shorts. I went downstairs and sat down for breakfast.

"Mum I have a CT scan today and blood tests, I'll get the results for them next week," I said.

"Okay, I'll come with you," she said.

"It's fine, Tyler said he'll come," I said.

"He's a good lad, that Tyler," John said.

"Why don't you eat some breakfast, Lex?" Mum asked.

"It hurts when I eat, the doctor said it's a side effect of the radiotherapy," I said.

She gave me a bottle of water to drink instead. I felt my phone vibrate and it was Landon calling me.

"It's Landon, I'm just going to go answer it," I said.

I went to the living room and answered his call.

"I just wanted to say good luck with everything today, I hope everything goes good," he said.

"Thank you and good luck on your Maths exam today," I said.

"It's so unfair that you get to miss that," he groaned.

We continued talking for another fifteen minutes before he had to go. I ended the call and went back to the kitchen. I sat down on the chair.

"Alexa, can you do my hair and makeup tonight, please?" Lilly asked.

"Yeah, where are you going?" I asked.

"I have a date with a boy from my year," she replied.

"Is he nice?" John asked.

"If he wasn't do you think I'd be going on this date?" Lilly replied.

"I have to see if he meets my standard first," Ryan said.

"Who are you? My dad?" Lilly said, rolling her eyes.

"Is he handsome?" Mum asked.

"Is he fit?" I asked.

"Jesus guys!" Lilly said.

"I think Lilly's capable enough of going on a date without you guys asking thousands of questions," John said.

"Thank you!" Lilly said.

"At least tell me who he is," I said.

"He's Daniel Harding," Lilly said.

"Dan Harding! You got a date with him," I yelped.

"Yeah," Lilly said, smiling.

"Who's Dan?" Ryan asked.

"The fittest guy in Lilly's year and he's super rich," I said.

"Shut up, people only care about his money, I actually thought he was a snob but he isn't, he's really nice and I like him," Lilly said.

"Ahh that's nice sweetheart," Mum said.

"Have you got an outfit to wear?" I asked.

"I thought that maybe you could help me with that," Lilly said.

"Yeah okay," I said.

Ryan left to go to college and Lilly went to school. I went to the living room and watched TV for a bit. Mum then went to work along with John. I texted Kylie for a bit before Tyler came. He took me to the hospital in his car.
