'We fall in love with the people we can't have'- Unknown.

I awoke and the doctor had given me some medication for the headache I had. I sat up and pulled at the drip slightly which made my attention focus on my arm and that's when I saw it. I had completely forget that I did it.

I saw the huge red cut on my arm that stood out against my pale arms. I touched it and it had scabbed over but it was still bright red. What was I thinking?

"The police are here, just tell them what happened," Dr Ray said.

"Hi Alexa," the policemen both said as they entered.

"Hi," I replied.

"Are you alright for us to ask you a few questions regarding the accident that occurred?" He asked.

"Sure," I replied.

"Could you describe what happened on that day prior to the accident?" He asked.

"I was drunk and I don't remember anything," I said.

"Do you understand that you are underage and vulnerable?" He asked.

"Yes, I just wanted something to take the pain away," I said.

"We heard the backstory already, sincerest apologies from me," he said.

"Are you going to arrest me?" I asked.

"Regarding the situation, we've all agreed that a caution will be satisfactory," he said.

"Okay thanks," I said.

They felt sorry for me. That's why they never took it further. I mean someone could've got killed. I didn't want their sympathy. The policemen left the room and the doctor returned. He did some checks and left.

It was like this for a week. The doctor did some checks regularly and then he'd leave. Whenever Mum or any of my family came to see me, I pretended that I was asleep so that I didn't have to face them.

"You can go home today," Dr Ray said signing the discharge papers.

I was able to move but it didn't matter much because the doctor said I had to remain in a wheelchair all the time. I stood up and walked a couple of steps. It wasn't too hard.

I changed into the outfit that Mum left for me. It was black denim jeans with a white tank top. I sat in the wheelchair and wheeled myself to my oxygen tank. I took off the drip in my arm and the tubes going into my nose and swapped it with the tubes from my own bag.

"You ready?" Mum asked, entering.

"Yeah," I replied.

The doctor came in and gave us our best before we left and he left a prescription for some tablets for me. I wheeled myself to the car and sat in whilst Mum started the engine.

"I want to go school," I said.

"Darling, it's more sensible to stay at home," she said.

"Please, I just want some normality back," I said.

"We should go home," she said.

"No, it's my life, okay," I snapped.

She was taken aback and I regretted what I said instantly.

"Okay sorry, I just want the best for you," she said.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped, I just want one normal day, it'll make me feel better," I said.
