The next day, Sana and Tzuyu returned to JYP University after having breakfast at Tzuyu’s apartment.
As they walked side by side, Sana slipped her hand into Tzuyu’s and smiled.
“Long-leg,” she began thoughtfully, “I just remembered, before you revealed yourself as Chou Tzuyu, I honestly thought you were Somi.”
Tzuyu glanced at her, amused.
“Momo’s description of her was basically you,” Sana continued. “Tall, kind, dimples, MVP. And then there were even rumors that you two were dating.”
“Hm,” Tzuyu said smugly. “So you were jealous.”
“It’s not like that,” Sana protested. “I was just curious. I misunderstood her as you, and I still haven’t met her in person.”
“So…” Tzuyu teased, “you want to meet my niece?”
“Wait. Niece?” Sana stopped walking. “She’s your niece?”
“Yeah,” Tzuyu nodded. “Yoona-unnie’s second child. Jungkook’s younger sister.”
“Oh,” Sana said, nodding in realization as she gently touched Tzuyu’s chin. “That explains the cleft chin.”
Tzuyu chuckled. “Anyway, I’ll fetch you tomorrow night. You’ll meet Somi, actually, the whole family.”
“That sounds great,” Sana smiled. “Just so you know, I’ll be out early tomorrow.”
After that, the two parted ways. Tzuyu headed toward her niece’s shared room, while Sana returned to the seniors’ dorm.
“Hi, auntie! Good morning!” Somi greeted cheerfully as Tzuyu entered.
“Good morning your ass,” Tzuyu deadpanned. “I told you to stop calling me that.”
“Peace,” Somi laughed. “So, what brings the great Chou Tzuyu to her niece’s room? You don’t visit unless it’s serious.”
“Sana wants to meet you,” Tzuyu said, settling against the study table. “We’re visiting the family tomorrow night.”
Hearing this, Somi squealed and immediately hugged her. “I can’t wait!”
Later that night, Sana excused herself once again. She had to return the book she and Nancy borrowed and retrieve her library card.
As she walked toward the library, someone suddenly grabbed her from behind. A handkerchief was pressed over her mouth. Sana struggled, but within seconds, her vision blurred, and she lost consciousness.
Not far away, Nayeon witnessed everything.
“Sana!” she shouted, rushing forward.
Then pain exploded at the back of her head and everything went black.
Carefully, a girl carried Nayeon into a waiting van while a man carried Sana.
“Careful,” the girl hissed when Sana’s head bumped against the door. She tapped the driver’s seat. “Go.”
“Why did you bring Nayeon?” the man demanded once they were moving. “I thought you wanted Tzuyu.”
“I didn’t plan this,” the girl snapped. “She saw you drug Sana. I panicked, I think I hit her too hard. Her head is bleeding.”
“Is she dead?” the driver asked.
“No!” the girl shot back. “I’m not a killer.”
She turned to her cousin, her voice shaking.
“We’ll drop Sana off at the hideout first. Then we take Nayeon-unnie to the hospital. I won’t let someone die because of me.”
'Nayeon-unnie, I’m sorry,' she thought as she glanced back. 'You weren’t supposed to be part of this.'
After thirty minutes, they stopped. Sana and the man were dropped off at the hideout. The van immediately sped toward the hospital with Nayeon.
Outside the emergency room, the two kidnappers waited in silence.
“Why are you doing this?” the driver finally asked. “You weren’t like this before.”
“I already told you,” the girl replied, avoiding his eyes. “I’m doing this because I love Tzuyu.”
Back at the dorms, Jeongyeon headed to JTrinity’s room, worry gnawing at her. Nayeon wasn’t answering her calls.
“Momo, have you seen Nayeon?” Jeongyeon asked urgently.
“No,” Momo replied. “Have you seen Sana? She hasn’t come back from the library.”
“Maybe they’re with the juniors,” Jeongyeon said. Together, they went to the maknaes’ dorm.
“Chaeyoung, where’s your cousin?” Jeongyeon asked.
“Maybe she’s with Sana-unnie,” Chaeyoung shrugged.
“She’s not back either,” Momo said. “What about Tzuyu? Maybe Sana’s with her.”
“What about Sana?” Tzuyu asked suddenly, entering the room.
Jeongyeon froze. “She’s not with you?”
“No,” Tzuyu frowned. “She was supposed to be sleeping in your dorm.”
Something felt wrong.
“Nayeon’s not answering,” Jeongyeon said shakily. “And I'm not liking it.”
“Relax,” Chaeyoung tried. “Maybe they’re just together.”
“They’re inseparable,” Tzuyu added, though her chest tightened.
“I hope so,” Jeongyeon whispered.
Then, her phone rang.
“Nayeon!” she cried, answering instantly. “Where are you?”
“Miss Yoo,” a stranger said. “We’re at Busan General Hospital. Nayeon injured her head, but she’s stable. Please come quickly, we’re leaving now.”
Jeongyeon collapsed to her knees, sobbing as the call ended.
“Unnie, what happened?” the girls asked in panic.
“Nayeon…” Jeongyeon choked. “She’s in the hospital.”
“And Sana-unnie?” the maknaes asked together.
"She's absolutely not with Nayeon," Jeongyeon replied.
Tzuyu’s hands clenched.
'Please, she prayed silently. Keep her safe.'
