Chapter Five

" Paiton , wake up . We're landing " Carter said , shaking my shoulder . I groaned and rubbed my eyes , then opened them . " Hi " I smiled up at him . He chuckled . " Uh , excuse me love birds ? Yeah you guys need to get your bags " Matt said , in a girly voice . I laughed and stood up , before attempting to pull my bag out of the slot . It didn't budge . " Let me help , babe " Carter smirked . My heart began beating faster again . He grabbed the handle and easily pulled it out . He set it beside me and I blushed in embarrassment . We all walked out of the plane and waited in the airport to call a cab .

The cab dropped us off at the hotel we were staying at , located on the beach . Cam checked us all in and handed us cards to be able to get into the rooms . " Just pick which room you wanna be in , I guess " He shrugged . Everyone was in full detail of who wanted what room as we got into the elevator . I could care less about what room I got , right now I was focused on my fear of heights . And the fact that the elevator floors were see-through didn't help at all . Carter walked over to me and wrapped his arm around my waist . He pulled me close and I wrapped my arms around his hips , inhaling his sweet scent . " You're afraid of heights ? " He whispered . I nodded and waited to hear the ding of the elevator . When I did , I grabbed my bags and quickly ran out of the elevator . Everyone looked at me and started laughing at my reaction . I rolled my eyes and looked down at my feet . Carter came over to me again and laced his fingers with mine . He flashed everyone a look . " Oh look , Carter's defending his girlfriend how cute " Taylor laughed . Carter's jaw clenched and he snatched a room card out of his hands . Then he led me to a room with him and slammed the door shut . I look up at him and furrowed my eyebrows . His expression softened when his eyes met mine . " I'm sorry about them laughing .. " He mumbled . I laughed a little bit , before kissing his cheek . " It's fine . But thanks for looking out for me " I said . I grabbed my bags and rolled them over to a bed . I threw my carry-on on a chair beside the bed and put my suitcase on bed & opened . I grabbed my neon green strapless bandeau bathing-suit , high waisted light wash shorts , and a black croptop . Then I zipped it back up . I grabbed soap and then walked into the bathroom , shutting and locking the door . I took a quick shower and changed into my clothes . I brushed out my hair and left it down .

" So Carter , when are you gonna make a move on her ? " I heard Nash ask . There was silence . " I don't know man , I ... We just met . I don't wanna rush " Carter said quietly . I smiled to myself and walked out of the bathroom . Carter was staring at me and Nash was grinning slightly . I made my way to my bed . " So uh , Paiton . Did you hear anything that we said ? " Nash asked . I looked into his bright blue eyes and nodded my head . Carter's eyes got wide and Nash burst into laughing . " So much for keeping that a secret " Nash said . Carter ran a hand through his hair . " Can you get out man ? I want to talk to her alone " He said . Nash got up , winked at me , and walked out of the door . " Alone doesn't mean you outside of the door eavesdropping ! " Carter yelled . I heard Nash mumble something through the door and then walk down the hallway . I looked up at Carter , amused at what just happened . When he looked at me , a small smile reached the tip of his lips . " So , what'd you wanna talk about ? " I asked . He looked down and bit his lip . " How do feel ... about me liking you ? " He asked , quietly . I thought for a moment . How did I feel about this ? Were we moving too fast ? Finally , i spoke . " I .. I like you , too . But don't you think we're moving a little fast ? We just met yesterday " I said . Carter nodded in agreement . " I think we should move a little bit slower .. start out as friends first . But that doesn't mean that we have to stop liking eachother " I continued . He looked up at me and smiled . " Okay . So do you wanna go to the pool with me and the guys ? " He asked . I nodded . " Yeah , just let me pack my bag " I said . I stood up and grabbed my beach bag , filling it with my phone , headphones , a towel & sunglasses . Then I took my croptop off and put it in my bag . I slid my flipflops on . " You ready ? " I asked Carter . He smiled and nodded .
