Chapter Seven

" So Paiton , you're from California ? " Kian asked me , sitting down beside me . I nodded my head and smiled . " That's awesome . I wish I lived there with a bunch of hot girls " Matt put in . I laughed and shook my head . " Most of the pretty girls at my school are really slutty " I said . " That's how you're different , though " Carter said , sitting on the other side of me . I blushed and looked out at the actual ocean . The water was a clear blue . I remembered how my dad had always loved going to the beach , in fact he taught me how to surf when I was 10 on Hawaii . I sighed in the remembrance of that amazing day , probably one of the best days I spent with him . A small tear fell down my cheek that I quickly wiped away . " I'm hungryyyyyy " Nash said , in a whiny voice . " You guys ready to go change and order some food ? " Jc asked us . We all nodded and grabbed our things . I wrapped my towel around my body and put my bag around my shoulder . I walked to the elevator beside Carter , one because were sharing the same room & two he knows how to comfort my fear of heights . " Uhm , Paiton ? Can I talk to you for minute once we get off ? " Sammy asked . I nodded my head and glanced at Carter , who furrowed his eyebrows . I shrugged in response . Soon , the elevator door opened & we all got out . I stood aside and waited for Sammy to come over . " Carter I'll be back in a few " I called out to him . He looked over and nodded his head . Then , I saw Sammy walk over to me with his genuine smile on his face . I smiled back . He leaned against the wall infront of me and ran a hand through his hair . I had to admit , he was pretty hot . " Do you wanna take a walk on the beach with me for a while ? " He asked . I nodded my head . We walked back to the elevator and got in . Sam pressed the floor button and stepped beside me . " It's gonna look so pretty outside " I said breaking the silence . He smiled . " Not prettier than you " He said . I shook my head with a small smile on my lips .

Since it was about 5pm , the sun was setting and it was gradually getting darker . Sam and I walked along the shoreline , carrying our shoes in one hand . I watched the water wash over my feet and then curl back up into the sea . " So , are you and Carter a thing ? " He asked in a soft voice . I bit my lip . " No , not yet " I said . " But do you like him ? " He asked . " Yeah " I admitted . Sam shook his head and stayed quiet . I looked into his eyes and saw that they looked a bit sad . " What's wrong ? " I asked , grabbing his wrist . He stopped walking and looked down at the sand . " Well , I had a vine crush on you for about a year now & now that we met I like you even more . But if you don't feel the same , it's fine " Sam spilled . I mentally sighed . I didn't want him to be upset all because of me . Maybe I could give him a chance , since me and Carter weren't official . " Gilinsky told me I shouldn't have said anything but I could help it . You're so beautiful " He mumbled . " I'll tell you what . I'll give you a chance since me and Carter aren't a thing . Okay ? " I asked . Sam quickly nodded and hugged me tightly . I hugged back and smiled . He was so cute . No , I couldn't start liking him . That'd break Carter's heart . I shouldn't have told him that , in the end one of us are going to get hurt & I don't want anyone to be . " Thank you Paiton " Sam whispered . " You're welcome " I said . But really , I wanted to take back what I said . It's too late now , though . " Well we better get back , I'm sure the guys have already ordered the food " I suggested . He smiled and grabbed my hand , then we both began walking back to the hotel .
