Chapter Twenty Two

Carter's POV

" WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING ?! " Matt yelled at me , pushing me against the wall . I looked behind him and rolled my eyes . " CARTER TELL ME ! YOU HURT HER ! " He raged , balling his hands into fists .

I hurt her ? I looked into his deep brown eyes that were full of anger now . " I ... hurt Paiton ? " I asked . Matt scoffed and let go of me , running a hand through his hair . " YES YOU HURT HER . BUT YOU WERE ONLY FOCUSING ON BURNING HOLES IN THE BACK OF SHAWNS HEAD " He screamed .

I stared at Matt with wide eyes . He's never necessarily screamed at me , this was the first actual time . " Is she okay ? " I asked , guilt rushing over me . " I don't know . Her hand and fingers had bruises . I saw her walk outside with Nash " Matt said , finally calmed down .

I closed my eyes and rested my head on the wall behind me . " I'm so stupid " I mumbled . I heard Matts phone buzz and looked up at him . " Nash is taking Paiton to the hospital " Matt breathed .

Oh wow . I screwed up and didn't realize it . Guilt poured over me , causing my body to shudder . The only reason I was angry at Shawn was because he was flirting with her - and she was flirting back !

" helloooo " Matt said , waving his hand in front of my face . I looked up at him and furrowed my eyebrows . " I said , we better get going to the hospital . I'll go get the guys " He said , before disappearing into the studio .

Paiton's POV

I woke up to a small headache and my hand pounding badly . I squinted my eyes and looked around the room . I was in the hospital , the guys asleep ontop of eachother and on the floor . I looked to my left and saw Nashs fingers laced in mine .

I smiled slightly . Nash was kinda like a big brother to me and I was so glad he was here . I squeezed his hand and his eyes shot open , revealing his bright blue orbs . He smiled at me and kissed my cheek .

" Glad to see that you're away , Pai " He smiled . I smiled back and stared into his eyes . I was really glad that he was beside me instead of Carter , because I honestly didn't want to talk to him after what had just happened .

He forgot about me for like 5 minutes and hurt my hand , bad enough that I'm in the hospital . I snapped out of my thoughts and looked over at the rest of the guys - Taylor saw asleep on the window seat with Aaron curled up by his feet . Cam was laying on the floor beside Shawn . Matt was snoring the chair beside me .

I was surprised to see Bethany asleep while pressed up against the wall . I smiled . I missed her so much . " Do you want me to tell Carter to come in or do you want me to wait for the nurse ? " Nash asked sweetly .

I sighed . " Just wait until the nurse co- " I was interrupted by the nurse walking in . She smiled at me looked down at my hand . " Well Mrs.Jeffries , your hand has a bone shattered and two of your fingers are fractured . You're on pain medicine and can leave whenever you want . Your friend Bethany brought clothes over here for you . Now what happened ? " She asked .

" Oh , I was running to my car because I was about to be late for a really important meeting and I tripped and fell , landing on my hand a little bit " I lied smoothly . She nodded . " Okay , I'll tell the doctor . Also , this boy has been in the waiting room for hours , do you want him in here ? " The nurse asked . I nodded .

She left the room and Carter walked in . His eyes lit up when he saw me , but then softened as he looked down at my hand . I looked over at Nash . " Can you give us some time and go get something to eat with the boys ? " I asked . He nodded and kissed my forehead , before waking everyone up . They followed him out of the room , leaving Carter and I alone .
