Chapter Eight

Carter's POV

Jc and I already already ordered the food for everyone & that only took about 5 minutes to do . Every single moment after that , my thoughts were all about Paiton . Just before we walked into the room , she told me she'd be back in a few . Well , it's been 35 minutes and I'm worried . Not that I don't trust Sammy , which I do . But I know that I can protect her and take care of her . While we were waiting , the guys and I decided to play a game of truth or dare . I couldn't focus though , because I couldn't help but think that her and Sammy began dating tonight . Maybe they didn't but I can't shake this feeling . " Carter " JJ said , making my head snap up . " Truth or dare " He asked . I thought for a moment . I wasn't up to do anything crazy , so I played it safe . " Truth " I said . Everyone laughed in confusion . Usually I was always up for a dare , but today I just felt different . " Okay , uhm ... when do you think you're gonna ask out Paiton ? " JJ asked . All of the boys leaned in , waiting for my answer . " I ... I don't know . We want to take things slow and become friends first . I do like her , but I just want to wait " I breathed . Cam patted my shoulder . " You're a good guy " He said . I smiled a little bit . " You guys better become friends fast or Sammy will take her from you " Gilinksy said . My heart dropped when I processed it all in my head . He probably took her out to make her start falling for him & leave me behind . And who am I kidding , he's been a better boyfriend than me in the past . But right when I'm willing to change , everything takes a dramatic turn . I was suddenly hit with a bunch of emotions . Sadness , anger , jealousy , heart break , and worst of all ... abandonment . I stood up and walked out of the door , running into someone . I looked down and met the gorgeous pair of hazel eyes that I was starting to fall for . Paiton .... and then I saw Sammy beside her , their hands laced together . My eyes started to get glassy , so I clenched my jaw & looked ahead before walking away .

Paiton's POV

After we got out of the elevator , Sammy decided to exchanged numbers . Once we did , we talked a little bit more . " Thank you for tonight . I really enjoyed walking on the beach " I said , with a smile . A cheeky grin spread across his face . " Anything for a beautiful girl like you " He replied . I blushed and looked down . " Well , I'll see you tomorrow I guess " I said with a hopeful tone . He nodded and bent down to kiss my forehead . I took one more step towards the door and giggled quietly , realizing that our hands were still locked together . Right as I was about to pull my hand away , the room door opened and slammed shut . Someone ran into me and quickly stepped back . Carter . He looked upset and when he saw me and Sammy's hands laced together , his eyes darkened . I could've sworn that his eyes began to water , because he clenched his jaw and walked away , not bothering to look back . I sighed and pulled our hands away . Then , I walked into the hotel room . How could I be stupid enough to be falling for 2 amazing people at the same time ?

Sammy's POV

I walked back to my hotel room with nothing but a smile plastered on my face . Paiton is so sweet and beautiful , I'm already starting fall in love with her . Something happened with Carter before she walked into the room & I still couldn't put it together . I could care less if he was mad about me making a move on Paiton , though . I know I will treat her way better than he could , judged on his past relationships which ended horribly . I was really hoping that she was falling for me as well .

I wouldn't know who to pick at all if I were Paiton . Sammy and Carter are both perfect & I love them the same . I couldn't do it .
