Chapter 17: All alone

Peeta POV

Katniss is being discharged today. But I have bad news. I have to go to District 7 because my aunt died. I hated her but I dont know if I should go. I want to go beacuse of respect. Even though she yelled at me, she put me through many chances. Ugghhh. A week without Katniss is going to be hard. And mostly with what happened two days ago. If I choose to go.

"Hi. Im Peeta Everdeen. I came to pick up Katniss Everdeen." Yeahh. All the gang decided to change their last name to be either cousins, or sisters, or brothers. Im the husband! "Ohh yes. Please sign here. And her clothes will be on the chair next to her bed." "Thank you" i say after I finish signing the paper.

I head to her room. Shes awake."PEETA!" "Hey babe. Ready to go?" And at that moment Finnick comes running in and says,"lets go kitten." I laugh. I know that he is going out with Annie and he has no more feelings for Katniss. But he is still such a flirt. By my surprise, Annie is ok with it.

"Finnick, she still needs to change." I say as his hand is wrapped around her wrist and she is standing, almost out of the door. "Oh. Hahah yeah I guess. Sorry Kitten just too excited." He says.

"Babe, can you change or do I meed to call the nurse for help?" I ask her. "Or do you need Papa to help you?" Finnick says caressing his hips. "Uhh no thank you. I think Mama can help herself." She says caressing her hips.

We all laugh and she heads for the bathroom. "Dude have you told her yet?" He asks me. For a minute Im confused but then I remember. "Nope. Can you give us a bit of time?" "Yeah. Ill be waiting in the car." Then he leaves and Katniss comes out in a white dress that reaches her knee. She looks like an angel.

"Where Finnick?" "Hes waiting in the car with Annie. Umm can we talk?" She turns pale and says,"Listen, If you want to brea-" "No Katniss. I dont want to break up with you. Never, thats the last thing I want to do." Her face turns back to normal and she sits on the hospital bed. "Well whats wrong?" I sit next to her and say," I have to go to District 7 for a week. I talked to your mom. Youre going to stay at Finnicks place. I want you to be safe. And the person that I trust is Finnick." A tear falls from her face. I wipe ot away.

Katniss POV

Hes leaving me. Well, for a week. Too long. He wipes a tear that fell from my cheek. Im afraid that Gale or Marvel might do someting to me. And will all the frustration in my head, I kiss him . . .

Day of when Peeta Leaves

Im going to miss him. Alot. "Boarding train number 309 to District 7." Stupid voice. I wish that train got flooded by diarehea before it got here so Peeta didn't have to leave. "Thats my train." He says turning to face me. "Please, think twice Katniss. I know you. I love you so much. " A tear falls from me and he wipes it from my face and kisses me. I kiss him back with so much passion. "I love you more. Im going to miss you." "Katniss, Dont change. I love you." "Last call for train 309 to district 7" "STUPID LADY. YOU WONT EVEN LET ME HAVE A MOMENT WITH MY BOYFRIEND?!?" I scream. Everybody around us stares at me. Peeta just smirks. "Calm down Kitty" Finnick says touching my shoulders.

Peeta waves goodbye and heads to his train. I love you. I feel empty already.
