The first streaks of sunlight filtered into the room, bathing it in a warm glow and illuminating the two figures nestled together under the white sheets. Sara was facing the right side of the room, in the direction of the window while Lucas was snuggled behind her, his head nuzzled close to her shoulders and his arms draped protectively around her waist. Various items of clothing were littered all around the room in careless abandon, evidence of deep sated pleasure from last night. She stretched herself slowly, clamping her eyes shut as harsh sunlight blinded her momentarily. She waited for a few seconds before she peered open her eyes and for a minute was confused, wondering where she was and if she had slept in late for work. That is until her state of undress brought her memory up to date, and a helpless blush filled her cheeks as she remembered the passionate night they had. Lucas had shown her magic, taking her to the all familiar heights of passion. Even though they were more strangers than friends, it didn't diminish the fact that her body still wanted him. She still wanted him. It was exactly like it was before, when they were still married.
She felt the arm wrapped around her waist tighten and she knew he was awake, or at least stirring. She thought about making a mad dash for her clothes to not deal with the awkwardness of after sex mornings but realising it would take her a good ten minutes to snuggle her hips into her skinny jeans, she groaned and decided to let embarrassment kill her.
He crooned, dropping butterfly kisses on her shoulder blades, and on the side of her mouth. He knew she was awake and was quite prepared to play her game. She remained immobile, unaffected by his kisses until he slid his hand under the sheets and travelled slowly down her body. Damn, he knew his way around a woman's body, that was for sure, she thought.
"Lucas!" She cried in disbelief that he wasn't satisfied by last night's event, and at her own wantonly thoughts. She swung to push his hands away only to realise she was completely facing him.
"Morning, beautiful," he whispered, desire clouding his pupils. "I enjoyed last night. Very much," he added, watching her lips.
She licked her lips, battling with ideas to escape from his hold otherwise they would end up spending the whole day in bed. It would not be a first. "I'm glad you did."
"Can we try again this morning? I'll be generous with kisses and love bites, I promise."
He was very efficient in that department. "Do you not have a company to run or something?"
He chuckled deeply, catching onto her game. "CAPPEL won't go under if I'm not CEO for a day."
That was a valid statement but her next question escaped her when his fingers glided over to stroke her arm, up to her face, tracing her lips. He was very concentrated on what he was doing. If she didn't know better, she'd say he was mesmerised by her beauty.
"You're so beautiful, it never fails to leave me breathless." It was an afterthought and she shifted slightly on hearing that. Karen Thomas was a beautiful woman also.
"I don't see you gasping for breath," she retorted, sarcasm dripping from her voice.
He grinned at the battle of wits, before replying, "Oh, I'm breathless, alright. I need immediate oxygen supply or I will die." Then he crashed his lips to hers, completely shocking her from throwing a wilting comeback. She responded to his hot, demanding kiss, allowing him to lead her on. His hands lowered to her hipline and common sense reasserted itself.
"Stop kissing me until you've brushed your teeth!" She cried out suddenly, pushing him away. "I don't want to get germs or something." She added in a bid to control her wayward hormones.
He released his hold on her, throwing his head back on the pillow to laugh. Deep, guttural chortle as though he found her words amusing. She lay there watching him, watching his Adam's apple booble with the action. That exact moment was enclosed in a warm, delicate feeling with butterfly wings, feelings she knew should be protected and cherished.
