Chapter 29

It took Toni and the boys around 2 hours to drive down to the hotel. The four of them had secretly booked rooms in the same hotel where the majority of the competitors were staying including the Vixens. Archie parked the truck in a free spot and switched off the engine.

"Finally" Jughead groaned.

"Chill Jones it was only 2 hours" Toni shook her head.

"I hate car rides, so much better on bikes" Jughead added while opening the door and climbing out.

"Only because you drive so fast on your bike" Archie laughed 

Jughead shrugged his shoulders and laughed. Reggie got the bags out of the truck and handed them to Archie and Jughead.

"I'll take your bag" Reggie kindly offered. 

"Thank you" Toni smiled.

Since the incident at school Reggie had apologized to both Toni and Cheryl. They were all on good terms, Reggie even visited Toni with Josie while she was in the Hospital. Deep down Toni knew Reggie was a sweet guy after all he does treat Josie really well. The students went in to the hotel and walked up to the reception desk, they were met by the manager of the hotel.

"Good evening, have you got a reservation?" she smiled at the youngsters.

"Hi yes, we have 4 reservations" Archie spoke on their behalf.

"Excellent sir, please may I have the names they were booked under" the manager began typing on the hotel computer.

"Archie Andrews" 

She continued to the type on the computer until his details appeared on the screen.

"Thank you Mr Andrews, your room is 211. May I have the please have the next name" she gave them another friendly smiled.

"Hi uh Reggie Mantle" 

The manager typed again.

"Thank you Mr Mantle, your room will be 212" she handed over the room card.

"Jughead Jones" 

"Here you are Mr Jones 210. And finally, may I take your name Miss"

"It's Toni Topaz" 

Once again, the manager typed on the computer, however it seemed to take a lot longer than the others did. 

"Is there a problem?" Toni asked.

"A slight problem but nothing to worry about, please wait one minute while I make a phone call" the manager apologised. Toni looked nervously at the others.

"Hello Rick its Martha, is their a problem with Room 214?" she listened to her colleague on the phone.

"Ok I will update the system, thank you," the manager return the phone on the the handset.

"Sorry about that, the room that you was booked in to is now unavailable due to emergency maintenance" 

"Oh dear are there any more rooms available" Toni panicked.

"Unfortunately no more standard rooms available due to the competition in town. But fortunately I have one of the suites available for you at no extra cost" the manager explained.

"Oh wow, thank you very much" Toni said excitedly.

"You're very welcome, here is your suite key, you will be staying in the Columbia Suite. It's the best one" she winked at Toni causing her to laugh.

"This is amazing thank you" 

"Once again you are very welcome I hope you all enjoy your stay with us" the manager smiled.
