The Following Week
Jughead walks in to the halls of his former High school, accompanied by his fellow Serpents Toni, Sweet Pea and Fangs. Students immediately turn their attention to them and begin to whisper and gossip. Jughead still leading his friends, walks over to the enrollment desk to be met by Archie and Veronica who immediately greet him with warm smiles.
"Friends. On behalf of the students and faculty here at Riverdale High, welcome to your new school. To ease this transition, they've set up a registration desk where you can get locker assignments, class schedules and a list of sports and extracurricular. We encourage each one of you to drink deeply from the cup that is fair Riverdale" Veronica explains in detail whilst smiling at each one of the former Southside High students.
"Stand down Eva Peron"
The new students look up to see a red headed student in a short red dress accompanied by an entourage of jocks and cheerleaders. It was clear to them that this girl was on the war path and had backup. Veronica rolled her eyes at the sight of Cheryl Blossom and the other popular students.
"There's the school spirit I so fondly remember" Jughead jokes.
"Cheryl, no one invited fascist barbie to the party" Veronica crosses her arms
"Wrong, Veronica. No one invited the Southside scum to our school" Cheryl replies, then moves over to the new students.
"Listen up ragamuffins. I will not allow Riverdale's above average GPA to suffer because of classrooms that are overcrowded with underachievers. So please do us all a favor and find some other school to debase with your hardscrabble ways" Cheryl says in her sweet voice but with an undermining tone.
"Why don't you come over and say that to my face!" Toni tenses up and approaches Cheryl.
"Happily, queen of the buskers" Cheryl walks closer showing she wasn't afraid of the pink headed serpent.
"Okay guys. Everyone, can we put our Northside-Southside difference apart and start over? A New slate?" Archie comes between the two girls, trying to get peace among the students.
"Archie, you don't speak for the bulldogs. I will remind you, these greaser-snakes showed up at your place to kick your ass" Reggie argues.
"Time to finish what we started!" Sweet Pea angrily walks up to Reggie.
"I'm so over the toxic masculinity in this hallway right now." Veronica exhales in frustration.
"All right! That's enough. Everyone get to class" Principle Weatherbee interrupts.
All the students in the hallway disperse towards their first class of the day.
Later that day
"I don't think we've properly met, I'm Veronica Lodge" Veronica introduces herself
"Toni Topaz" she exchanges a polite handshake with Veronica
"Oh, like the purple colored gemstone. Love it"
"And I'm Josie McCoy, formerly of the Pussycats. Now just Josie, and this is Kevin"
"Your last name is Keller, right?" Fangs questions
"How did you know that?" Kevin replies
"Joaquin and I used to hang out. He talked about you all the time."
Kevin smiles at Fangs who smiles back at him.
"You guys. Yes you, come with me!" Principle Weatherbee t points at the Serpents.
The new students and Veronica follow Principal Weatherbee out in to the hall. "Which one of you defaced our school seal with this graffiti?" Principle Weatherbee asks sternly pointing at the Serpent spray painted over the school's logo.
"This is what they do Principle Weatherbee. They tag their turf" Reggie huffs.
"My god Reggie, could you be any more transparent" Veronica says in disgust.
"Effective immediately, no gang behavior of any kind will be tolerated in my school, as of this moment, no more Serpent jackets, and all tattoos will be covered. Possession of any gang paraphernalia will lead to immediate suspension. Are we clear?"
The new students turn away from Principle Weatherbee with frustration and head down the hallway.
