Chapter 21

Meanwhile at the Whyte Wyrm, Fangs, Sweet Pea and Toni were getting competitive with each other at the pool table.

"So what happened earlier at school Toni, you totally froze when Cheryl spoke to you?" Fangs lined up his cue with the white ball

"If I tell you something you can't tell anyone else" Toni sat on a bar stool with her cue in her right hand

"Yeah we wont tell" Sweet Pea reassured his friend.

"Well you know I was at Cheryl's last night?" Toni started

"OMG did you sleep with her?" Fangs looked up from the pool table

"We did sleep together but not in that way" Toni protested

"Well that's good, I haven't blown my chance with her" Sweet Pea joked

"So what happened then?" Fangs took his shot and pocketed a ball in the corner.

"We umm kissed" Toni nervously admitted

"Better luck next time Sweet Pea" Fangs laughed.

"So you two a thing then?" Sweet Pea questioned

"I don't know, we haven't talked about it. But I really like her" Toni lent her pool cue up against the bar and picked up her drink.

"Have you told her that?" Fangs missed his next shot and huffed in frustration.

"I don't know, I might call her" Toni contemplated and played with the draw in her glass.

 "Tell her to come join us, I would love to see her again in that outfit  she wore" Sweet Pea nodded to himself.

Toni gave him a stern look.

"Go call her T" Fangs insisted

"Ok be right back" Toni had to jump of the stool because she was too short to reach the ground. She walked outside in the car park of the Whyte Wyrm and took her phone out. To her surprise, her phone flashed up with an unknown caller ringing her.

"Hello?"

"Toni, it's your old gal pal Penny" she cheerfully said

"What do you want?" Toni said sternly 

"I need a young feisty serpent to do my work for me"

"No chance" 

"Oh really, well I have someone that would look to say hi" Penny laughed

Toni was confused until her phone buzzed with 1 New Message. She opened up the message to see a picture of a terrified Cheryl who was tied down to the chair she was sitting on. 

"Let her go" Toni said angrily

"Not until you do a job for me, if you don't I will carve up your girlfriend" Penny demanded

"Fine!" I'll do it as long you promise you won't hurt her"

"You have my word. Oh but Toni, if you breathe a word of this to any of your serpent friends or the cops. I won't keep my promise"

"What do I need to do?" 

"Meet me at the old saloon bar on the outskirts of town. And remember, if you tell anyone, your girlfriend gets it and then I will come for you"

Toni locked her phone and put her hands on her head then breathed out heavily. She began pacing around the parking lot thinking what she was going to do. Penny left her with no choice but Toni knew there had to be away to save Cheryl without having to be Penny's drug mule. The door to the Whyte Wyrm opened and Sweet Pea appeared.

"Toni, are you okay?" 

"Yeah I'm fine" Toni wiped her eyes and smiled at him

"Look, I'm sure you and Cheryl will work things out" he went over and pulled her in for hug

"Thanks Sweet Pea. I'm gonna go though, I have something to do" 

"Alright T, we are here if you need anything" he smiled at the smaller serpent.

Toni walked over to her bike then got on it, she started the bike up and put her helmet on. Using her foot, Toni kicked up the rest stand and slowly drove out of the car park to head to the old saloon to meet Penny. 

It was around a 30 minute drive to the place, that whole time Toni could not stop thinking about that pic of Cheryl and all of the things that could be happening to her. Toni turned off her bike near the entrance of the very run down place. She got off the bike then nervously walked up to the door. As Toni went through to the door she saw an old man at behind the bar and a blonde women sitting on a stool drinking a beer. The door shut behind Toni causing the man and woman to look up at her, the blonde woman was Penny. She got up from the stool, downed her beer and left a 5 dollar bill under the two empty beer bottles. Penny hinted for Toni to follow her in to the back room of the bar. Toni followed her in to the large but dark room that was that partly lit with a single hanging lightbulb in the middle of it. At the side of the room was two duffel bags that looked very full.

"Here's what you're gonna do. You are going to take these two bags to this location without drawing attention to yourself" Penny picked up to two bags and the note then held them to Toni.

"I want proof that Cheryl is unharmed" Toni refused to take the bag

Penny took out her phone and showed Toni a livestream of where Cheryl was being held captive. Cheryl was still tied down to chair in an empty warehouse, she looked at the corner of the room where a guy sat on some boxes watching TV. She took particular attention to the boxes he was sitting on, they had some logo of something on them but she couldn't make out, but she knew she had seen that logo somewhere before. 

"Fine, once I deliver these you will let her go right?" Toni took the bags and note.

"Yes, your red headed northsider will be let go, but if you breath a word of this to anyone once we let her go I will come for you and her" Penny said sternly.

Toni left the to saloon and stood with the bag by her bike. She looked at the note that had the address on it, it was in a run down area of Centerville, Toni knew where it was as her father had taken her along once to pick up his drugs. Before she got on the bike she thought about those boxes that she saw on that livestream, she then remember that in the picture Penny had originally sent her she could see the same guy in the background. She quickly pulled out her phone and brought up that picture. She zoomed in on the picture with her index finger and thumb. She couldn't read the writing on it but she recognized the logo but she struggled the think where she had seen it. 

It then came to her, it was the logo of the brewer that made the beer her grandpa used to drink when she was younger. She remembers her grandfather telling her that the Brewery had gone bankrupt leaving him rather upset. Toni went on to Google and typed in the name of the Brewing company, she scrolled through the results and stopped at an article that read - Wilson's Brewery warehouse closes down after bankruptcy. She begins reading the article and clicks on a picture that showed the inside of the warehouse, Toni then looked back at the picture of Cheryl. The boxes where the same and the was a crack in the floor on both pictures. Toni had worked out where they were keeping Cheryl. 

Toni then opened up Maps to find out where this warehouse was located. It was on a quite road in Riverdale, not far from the Police station. Toni picked up the two bags and attached them to her bike then climbed on to it and turned the ignition on. She put her helmet on and drove away from the saloon but not towards Centerville, she was going back to Riverdale to save Cheryl.
