-Third Person View-
Matthew Tate watched from afar in envy as Kanda Yu and Naomi walked around the town, asking villagers about the strange disappearances. He especially scowled when Yu grabbed her hand, of course it was only because she was walking too slow for Yu's pace, but it still bothered Matt.
That should be me holding her hand. She should be here with me, and she should be so in love with me, just like it used to be.
He dug his fingers into the rooftop's wood, it breaking under his touch. He sighed. The fact that Matt had two sides to him, a side that loved Naomi with a passion and wanted to just kiss and hold her and be with her, and the side that was sadistic and cruel, that loved to just toy with Naomi was what made it all the more difficult to make her fall for him once more. The sadistic side seemed to have more control lately, and it wasn't doing him any good with Naomi.
If only I could just control it the way Tyki does, for the most part, it could be so much better.
He gripped the rooftop harder. Stupid Kanda Yu, he was supposed to be some emotionless bastard, and now he was slowly getting all over Matt's Naomi. Matt could feel it, the one thing he dreaded.
She was falling for Yu too.
"I can win her back on December 7th, I can win her, if I can just control this other part of me," he muttered to himself. "I just have to keep her and Yu from getting too close."
In town, Kanda dragged Naomi along, being too slow to walk is what he had told her, but that didn't even seem relevant to him. He just felt like holding her hand.
This stupid painful feeling I get around her, it's so ridiculous, I've never felt anything so..so like this.
Kanda gripped her hand harder subconsciously as his thoughts irked him.
Look what she's doing to me, I can't even concentrate on this mission. Damn you Naomi, I can't get rid of this feeling, you're on my mind constantly, and it just gets worse when you're not around.
"Kanda, you're hurting my hand," Naomi informed, flinching a little.
"Sorry," he stated briefly, easing his grip.
They wandered around the town for hours, gathering info about the strange forest phenomenon.
"So we know that there's not any seventeen year olds in the town at this moment in time so we don't know if my age is affected, and the strange tune coming from the forest started only about three months ago," Naomi said, putting her hand to her chin in thought.
Kanda tensed at the thought of Naomi being compelled into a forest which no one leaves.
Stupid teme. She wants to be able to hear it but not be compelled. We don't even know what power the tune, if it's even real, it may possess.
"We should go find the kid that Hei saved, Max was it? He can tell us more about the tune, that is if it exists," Kanda suggested.
"Good idea. But...where is Hei?" Naomi asked.
"Let's check by the forest, that's the most likely place that Finder will be," Kanda muttered, taking Naomi's hand again. They ran across the town, not finding Hei by the forest but finally finding Hei in a ramen shop.
"Oh hello again Yu Kanda and Naomi Kurosu," Hei waved, sitting down in a booth eating a bowl of ramen.
The two joined him, sitting down in the booth as well. Kanda ordered his usual soba noodles and Naomi ordered a cup of tea since they were absent of coffee. "So Hei we have a question to ask you," Naomi started, but was cut off by Kanda's blunt demand.
