It's been 2 months since we came to Stone Creek and 2 months since I started practicing Cross Country an hour after school every week day and an hour on Saturday mornings. It's been 1 1/2 months since Nick made the Barrel Racing team and 1 month since Will broke up with Sonia.

"Nice job Connor just remember to let him come up to you a little more ok" I nodded at Josie and pulled Wind over next to Will and Dash, "Alright guys good job today and for some exciting news we have our first qualifying Cross Country competition next weekend on Saturday against Cross Stream academy!" We all let out a whoop and I turned to Will,

"Is Cross stream like our biggest rival?" Will nodded and I turned my attention back to Josie,

"Now then I must choose team captain and team rankings by Friday so I want you all at your best this week" We all nodded and I heard Sonia talking,

"Daddy's bringing me this new horse that's sure to get me the team captain spot sure she isn't super pretty but she's fast and jumps well" I couldn't hear what Kaylee said back but it got me wondering what the horse would look like

"Now then everyone go on and give your horses a good rub down. They deserve it just as much as you guys deserve to get some rest" We all waved bye and dismounted. I walked Wind over to the cross ties next to Will and Ben's horses,

"You know Connor you should just give up now you know there's no way your going to be able to win a ribbon or anything at that competition" I turned around and raised an eyebrow at her,

"Are you sure about that because if I recall correctly at our last Competition I placed higher than you" Sonia still smirked,

"That was just a lucky run but this time you better hope you have a few tissues to wipe your eyes as I wipe the floor with you and your mule that you call a horse" This time I lost it only to be caught by someone before my fist connected with her face. I struggled against their arms but to avail,

"I'll tell you one more time Sonia you stay away from me and my horse because one day there's not gonna be anyone to stop me from beating you to a pulp!"

She turned sashayed away her mid back jet black curly hair swinging as she did.

"Can I let you go now and not risk you running after her" I turned my head and found that it was Will that kept me from punching her,

"I guess but I swear one day she's gonna get it" He nodded and let me go watching me carefully as I walked back to Wind. I quickly un-tacked him and brushed him down, I thought for a moment before deciding today was a good day to give him a bath. I led him out to the outdoor cross ties and hose. I grabbed soap and sponges from my locker freezing for a moment as usual when I saw the saddle. I slammed the locker shut and jogged back to Wind.

I soaped up the sponge and sprayed Wind down enough that his coat was thoroughly soaked and shiny. I set the hose down and started soaping him up focusing on his back when I felt someone come up and tickle my side. I instinctively threw the sponge at their face,

"Hey!" I turned around and started laughing when I saw Will with a sponge on his head and soap dripping down his hair. He took the sponge off which made his hair stick up all spiky and made me laugh harder. He grinned,

"So it's like that now is it?" He looked at him curiously wondering what he was going to do just as he went and grabbed for the hose. I was quicker and grabbed it first while he grabbed the soapy bucket. He dumped the bucket on me while I sprayed him with the hose. Seeing he was unarmed he went up behind me and wrapped me up in a hug lifting me off my feet and soaking me. I dropped the hose and it landed in an angle so it was aiming up into the air making it rain on us while Will spun me around.
