"Ok bud it's just gonna be you and me out there, and we're gonna show them what we can do," I said buckling his throat latch on his bridle smiling softly.

"You ready to go?" I heard Will say coming up next to me

"All ready, how'd you do?" He was still in his Cross Country vest so I could figure out he just finished his run.

"Not good, the course is tougher than it looks so be careful and try to keep Wind under control no matter how strong he is," I step back no longer smiling,

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing but he's just strong and unlike some riders you can't always control him," now I was completely backed up my hand on Winds neck glaring,

"I think you should go check on Dash,"

"Connor I didn't mean it like that," he said, I turned around and started tightening the girth,

"Really then how did you mean it?" I said and felt him grab my wrist yanking me around,

"Just stop for a minute Connor! Your over reacting!" Now I was mad,

"You better walk away right now before we both say something we regret," I said glaring but Will didn't let go of my wrist instead his grip tightened, "Will, let go that hurts!"

"Connor would you calm down I didn't hurt you!" I kept tugging my wrist but he wouldn't give. I felt Wind start prancing, my eyes widened as I realized I hadn't tied his reins to the trailer yet.

"Will let me go, Win-" Will glared,

"No this is about us not Wind," Suddenly Wind was in between us snorting at Will pawing at the ground with his front right hoof. I walked to his side and started stroking his neck glaring at Will I took Winds reins,

"You better stay the hell away from me and my horse Will. Friends don't treat friends this way." Holy Crap that just happened.

Turning away I led Wind down to the starting gates my number just being called as third on deck. Taking a deep breath I wiped the tears that were coming yet again today.

Looking at my wrist my eyes widened at the bruises on it. Guess Will had a harder grip than I thought. Lining up I saw Adam and Casey coming over, shoot they saw the bruise and I'd be part of a murder, pulling on my black gloves I pulled my sleeve down over my wrist as much as I could.

"Hey sucker you ready to kick some butt out there?" I flashed Adam and Casey a smile seeing Adams arm around her waist.

"Did Will come and talk to you about the course?" I nodded frowning,

"Oh yeah he definitely did," Adam looked confused,

"What'd he say?"

"He told me I can't control Wind very well like other riders can and I needed to be careful," Adams hand that wasn't around Casey's waist was now in a fist,

"Now he's done it," I shook my head,

"Hes right though I can't control Wind,"

"Connor look at me," I looked up to see my brother looking at me with a soft gaze,

"You are the only rider Wind will listen to, when we exercised Wind for you Will tried but the only one Wind would listen to enough to actually move was me and Nick so we put Nick on him. The only reason Will said that was because he's jealous, jealous of the bond you have wind. Don't ever doubt that. Trust Wind out there, he trusts you now all that's left is to trust him," I wiped away the silent tears that had starting falling down my face,
