(Kenny's POV)

“She moved!” a girl’s familiar voice said.

“Sshh!” someone hissed. “Shut up!”

“What?” the girl said. “She did!”

“Kendall?” a mature voice asked. “Kendall, can you hear me?”

I felt my fingers twitch as I fought against the wall that kept me down.

“SEE?!” she screamed. “Kenny! Kenny, wake up!”

Where’s Chris? I want Chris here.

“Cookie,” a masculine voice said, caressing my ear.

I took in a deep breath and gasped. My eyes shot open. It hurts.

I blinked and looked around, seeing six faces. The seventh head in hands, face down crying on my bed. I couldn’t see his face.

“KENNY!” Hannah screamed. She lunged forward and hugged me. I couldn’t move my hand since a needle was stuck there.

“Hannah..” I croaked. The doctor helped me up in a sitting position.

Tears were streaming down her face as she smiled, her eyes shining brightly.

“Welcome back,” Aaron said softly.

When he said those words, everything came crashing down on me.

My mother hit me.

I tried to kill myself.

The message I wrote on the mirror…

Chris saying he was breaking up with Addie.

Chris crying over me.

Chris saying he loved me.

“Kenny…what’s wrong?” Hannah asked. I looked up and felt something wet on my cheeks. I sobbed and hugged her tightly.

Hannah said nothing as she hugged me tightly. She let me cry on her shoulder for awhile.

“I’m sorry.” I told them, tears still coming. “I-I just couldn’t…”

“Don’t say anything for now.” Trent said, patting me lightly.

I nodded, closing my eyes, the tears slipping past my close lids.

“Kenny,” Erik said. I opened my eyes and looked at him. “It doesn’t matter anymore. What’s done is done. And the important thing is that you’re alive right now.”

I nodded, wiping them away and sniffling.

“SHE’S AWAKE?” I heard a voice yell.

My heart jumped.

Chris.

Hannah's POV

“Uh…I’m gonna have a talk with him for a bit,” I said, glancing at the door, as if Chris would come barging in any minute.

“O-okay.” Kenny said.

“Guys, do you wanna come with me?” I pressed. They mumbled their goodbye’s to Kenny as we exited. I immediately saw Chris, standing in the middle of the hall, talking to a nurse. His hair was disheveled, and his clothes were wrinkled.

“Uh, yeah…I’m out.” Trent said, holding his hands up. “I’m going to the café.”

“Me too.” Erik and Lucas muttered.

I looked at Aaron. He shrugged and followed me.

“Chris?”

He turned around, and I gasped slightly, seeing his face. He had bags under his eyes, from lack of sleep. They were a little red-rimmed, which meant he’d been crying before he came here.

Either tears of joy…

Or tears of guilt.

“Hannah?” he said.

I gave him a grim look.

“She’s awake, isn’t she?” Chris asked, carefully. He faced me fully, looking me in the eye. As angry I was at him, I couldn’t challenge him. Chris wasn’t someone to joke around with when he‘s being serious...especially when it regards Kenny.

She needed him now. Just as he needed her.

“She’s awake,” I said quietly. “In her room---waiting for you.”

Chris’s face relaxed. “Thank you, Hannah.” he whispered, giving me a gentle squeeze before running off.

I sighed. Aaron wrapped his arms around me, which surprised me a bit. But I leaned against him anyway and closed my tired eyes.

“Thank god,” I mumbled tiredly, falling asleep in his arms.
