Chris's POV

I parked the car behind the ice cream place.

Kenny’s brilliant idea.

It wasn’t so bad. I haven’t been here in a long time. It brought back memories.

Kenny made me carry her inside, of course.

My eyebrow quirked when I saw the blond waiter who used to flirt with Kenny making out with some girl.

I cleared my throat. Kenny giggled.

Guy and the girl looked up. I glanced at his name tag. Chad.

“Hi, Chad! Hi girlfriend of Chad” Kenny chirped enthusiastically, making me chuckle. The girl stared at her with wide, amazed eyes.

“Hey Kenny,” Chad said. “This is Gwen, my girlfriend.”

Girlfriend? So playboy had a girlfriend now, huh?

“Hiya Gwen!” she said.

Gwen laughed. “Hello Kenny.”

Kenny tapped on my shoulder and whispered, “How did she do it? That girl must’ve done something incredible to capture Chad’s heart.”

I laughed quietly.

“What will you two be having today?” Gwen asked. Chad wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer, kissing her forehead. He looked at her with absolute adoration.

“Aw!” Kenny squealed. “You two are so cute!”

Gwen giggled and blushed.

“Ohhh kaaay,” Kenny grabbed a menu from the counter. “I want a mint chocolate chip-cookie dough, coffee, birthday cake, vanilla, strawberry, caramel toffee crunch, cheesecake, and oreo ice cream with chocolate syrup, caramel, oreos, rainbow sprinkles, m&m’s, marshmallow sauce, and cherries on top.”

“That’s extreme,” Chad chuckled. Kenny stuck her tongue out at him.

"Don't forget the whipped cream!" I joked.

Kenny gasped. "Ohh yes! I almost forgot."

“Okay, one mint chocolate chip-cookie dough, coffee, birthday cake, vanilla, strawberry, caramel toffee crunch, cheesecake, and oreo ice cream with chocolate syrup, caramel, crushed oreos, rainbow sprinkles, m&m’s, marshmallow sauce, and cherries on top... With whipped cream. What’ll you be having?” she turned to me. I smirked, amazed that she took Kenny’s order like it was normal.

Must be a girl thing.

I looked at Kenny. Then I shook my head. “Nah, we’ll just share.”

Kenny beamed at me, happy.

We sat by our ‘usual’ table. The one we always used to sit in when we came here regularly.

Gwen served our order with two spoons, and Kenny dug right in.

I chuckled. “Slow down. You might get a---”

She stopped and grabbed my arm with a weird face. “Brain freeze.”

“See?”

She pouted. After awhile, she started eating again.

“Hey, I have a question.” I said.

“Ask away!” she smiled.

“What was that box you left by my side table when we were at the hospital?”

Her face fell slightly. “Oh…you haven’t opened it yet?”

“No…should I?”

Kenny played around with her spoon. “Well, you were supposed to see what’s inside when I wasn’t there…”
