Kenny's POV
"Kenny?" a soft voice called. The door to my tiny room opened and Jenna came in, smiling.
"Hey, Jenna," I said. "What's up?"
"There's a couple here who wants to adopt you." she told me, still grinning.
"There is?" I asked, kinda surprised.
"Yeah." she nodded. "Come on out and you can meet them."
"Sure." I said. Jenna left, closing the door behind her. I pulled my black hoodie over my head and slipped on my only surviving pair of converse shoes.
It has officially been a year and a half since I came to the Foster home.
I was happy here, to be honest. I enjoyed looking after the kids, and I had a lot of friends.
Jenna was the--well, the mother of the home, you could say.
Then, Jess, her sister, who comes here every Friday from College to visit us.
Who else?
Oh, there was also Tina, who was so fragile and innocent. She was about five years old. Her blonde hair was in soft curls around her cute, round face. She had the bluest eyes ever.
She looked like Grace.
"Kenny!" Tim, the little boy who I always played with bounded over and hugged my waist. "Where are you going?"
I was about to tell him, when I heard Jenna calling my name.
"Kenny, over here!"
I smiled and took Tim's hand as we walked over. As we got closer I saw a young couple talking to Jenna. They were wearing formal business suits. The woman was very pretty. She had long mahogany brown hair and light brown eyes. The man was fairly tall, with dark brown hair and green eyes.
"Oh, Jerry, she's so pretty!" The woman said, when I approached them.
Jenna smiled at me.
"Hello, Kendall," the man said. I took his hand and gave it a firm shake. He smiled a little at that.
"Call me Kenny." I said. "Nice to meet you."
"Hello Kenny," the woman said, smiling eagerly. "I'm Leigh Vandermille, and this is my husband, Jerry."
"Um, can I ask a question?" I blurted.
They nodded.
"How come you want to adopt me? I mean, why not the little kids?"
Jerry and Leigh laughed. "Well, we've always wanted a teenage daughter." Leigh piped in.
"Okay," I said slowly. Tim transfixed his wide eyes from me, to the couple.
"Are they going to adopt you?" he asked.
"Yes they are, Timmy." Jenna said.
"No!" Tim cried, clutching my hand. "I don't want Kenny to go!"
"Tim," I tried, but he burst into tears.
Leigh looked down on her Prada heels and bit her lip.
"Timmy," I said, bending down. He sniffled and continued crying. "Tim, listen."
He opened his eyes a bit, tears pouring out.
"I'll still come back to visit you." I said soothingly. "I'll try and visit during the weekends, okay? I promise I won't completely disappear."
He nodded, still crying, but hugged me anyway. Tim was easy to console.
"You're moving?" a girlish voice cried out. We all looked over. Everyone had gathered and was surrounding us. Leigh looked around, her eyes widening. Jerry tried to smile at the kids.
"Kenny don't go!"
"Kenny, don't leave us!"
"Don't leave!"
Oh boy.

"Those kids must really love you, huh?" Leigh said, as I got in the back seat.
I laughed. It took a solid hour to stop everyone from crying so much. I had to admit, I was really sad that I had to leave them. But I was also kind of happy that I would be able to live with two nice people.
"So, where do you guys live?" I asked, trying to make conversation.
Hey, they were going to be my new 'parents' after all.
Might as well get to know them.
"England," Jerry said. My eyes widened. I was surprised, but somehow excited. I've always wanted to go to England...but how would I visit the kids?
"You don't sound British."
Leigh chuckled. "No, we're Americans."
Well that was unexpected.
I nodded and relaxed against my seat. It was a two hour drive to the airport. I might as well take my time and relax.
England, huh?
I guess this is a new start for me.

"Wake up Kenny," Leigh's voice said. "We're here."
I blinked tiredly and opened my eyes. I sat up and looked outside the window.
Oh. My. Gosh.
We were in England.
I squealed silently, and Leigh chuckled as I excitedly hogged the window.
Holy crap, I can see Big Ben! In person!
I couldn't stop the grin on my face. After all these years of dreaming...I'm finally in England.
