(Kenny's POV)

“Can I take your order?” a guy said, winking at me. I ignored him and glanced at Chris, who was glaring noticeably at the guy.

I linked my arm through Chris’s and said, “What are you having, hon?”

He smiled at me, already catching up. “The usual. I’ll go save us a table.” he leaned down and gave me soft peck on the lips.

The waiter’s smile faded.

Actually, I was used to this. Whenever a girl tried to flirt with Chris, I’d come to his rescue, and whenever a guy flirts with me, he comes to mine.

Yup, we’ve got each other’s back.

“One mint chocolate chip sundae, one half cookies and cream half cookie dough sundae with caramel on it and with chocolate chip cookies on the side,” I ordered.

The waiter nodded. “Boyfriend?”

I rolled my eyes. “What else would he be?”

“Someone’s not happy.” he smirked.

“Are you kidding?” I said, faking a sigh of contentment. “He’s the best.”

I looked over at his nametag. Chad.

Chad rolled his eyes. “Yeah, whatever.”

I leaned in the counter. The place wasn’t too crowded. “Don’t you have a girlfriend?”

“Nah.” he waved it off. “I don’t need one.”

It clicked. “Oh...you’re one of those guys.”

“One of what?” he asked, smiling innocently while pouring caramel syrup over the ice cream.

“One-night stand guy.” I said flatly.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t.” he smirked, handing me the ice cream. I shot him a disgusted look and took the tray, carrying it over to mine and Chris’s table.

“What did he say to you?” he asked, somewhat angry.

I shrugged. “Not really important.”

I could see him sighing, so I grabbed a utensil and spooned a mouthful into Chris’s mouth. He looked taken back, but there was an evil glint in his eyes. He took his own spoon and forced the ice cream into my mouth.

We laughed, giving ice cream to each other. From the corner of my eye, I could see Chad the waiter-guy watching, so I smiled at Chris and pointed to my own chin. “You’ve got ice cream here.” then I leaned over and kissed the ice cream off. I could hear some giggles, followed by sighs.

Glancing over my shoulder, I could see a group of girls watching me and Chris with envy and amusement. One girl mouthed to me, ‘You’re so lucky!’

I smiled and mouthed back. ‘I know!’

Chris was watching me curiously, a faint smile on his lips. I smiled at him innocently. We finished up our ice cream, ignoring the jealous whispers of the group. Then we got up and he hugged me to my waist as we walked out of the ice cream parlor.

I burst out laughing the minute we got inside the car. “That was so much fun!”

He laughed with me. “I know. We could win an Oscar or something.”

I nodded agreeably.

“So…” Chris started, once the laughter wore off.

Oh...I knew where this was going.
