Chapter 8

The chilly air brushes past me as I stuck my head out of the window. My lips curl up in satisfaction as the familiar scent of nature washes over me. I sit up in contentment enjoying the scent of my mate surrounding me. 

For the hundredth time, I try to crawl out the window, but with a pained cry, Kaiden pulls me back.

Jade laughs and pushed a button. With a beep, the top of the car starts to move. I jump and growl on the lookout for the threat. Kaiden smiles and pulls my waist closer to his.

The top of the car opens up and the sky suddenly became visible. I relish in the warmth of the sun, happier than ever. I grin at the surprise and try to jump the car even more fervently. 

Jade was gasping for breath at the thing called the wheel. 

"Pull over, Jade!" Kaiden, who was tired of fighting me, screams as my eyes lit up in excitement. As soon as the car slowed down, I jumped out with Kaiden behind. The twigs called legs kept on and for once didn't disappoint me. I screech in delight and speed up. With a  reluctant smirk, Kaiden follows. 

The wind raced through my curls and my surrounding blended unto the familiar bland of colors. I enjoy the chase as my mate closes up on me. Excitement coursed through my veins, as my senses sharpen.

"I'll give you 10 seconds-"

 I trip. Kaiden abruptly stops and runs toward me losing the teasing glint in his eyes.  "Za-"

Mora... I blink. That name... that name sounded familiar. That name sounded like it was calling to me.

A voice sounded in my head which was very familiar to- 

"I'll give you ten seconds to run- "

My breath stutters and my eyes start glowing. My hands instantly go to cover my head. Kaiden slides down next to me and grasps my hands.

"Listen to me! It's Code Z!-" Mora!  I start gasping and desperately scratch my throat.

" Well, my pretty, I guess I don't respect you  -" Red high heels, a devilish smile...Mora!!  My eyes tear up, and I look at Kaiden desperately for help.

'Mom! They did not take off their-" 

"-Shoes?" Caught off guard, Kaiden finishes and grasps my head firmly. I hyperventilate and cuddle his neck to calm down. "Mora...?

My hands start trembling, and I couldn't breathe. I was suffocating. I needed to.. I need to... I need to... I got to save my mom.

Both of my eyes flash and emanate a golden glow.  My claws elongate. A sudden pressure explodes from within me, and Jade hits the ground. Kaiden sucks in a breath and brushes his face against mine.

Kaiden looks worriedly at Jade and kisses my cheek.

"Mo..ra? It's alright. I'm here! I'll protect you. I got your back, so fight it! He trails kisses down my face while his hands caress my cheeks. I try to take a calming breath trying to control something I was not even aware of.

"What the fuck!?" A nasty voice sneers.

Jade whimpers on the ground and hides his head. I look questionably at him, but he avoids my gaze.
