Chapter 27

Our after school training finish after a yoga lesson from Dr. Cheongo who taught us the meaning of a flexible body.  Our model students compete at the front while our precious ... babies, Mora and Raol, struggle to keep up.   

Eros, in the meantime, has fallen asleep on his mat vulnerable to the world. I chuckle and poke him.

"Sleepy boy, we're done for the day." I whisper ignoring  Kaiden's knowing look. Eros groans and looks at me through bleary eyes. 

"Is it over?" He asks hoarsely. He rubs his eyes and squints them to avoid the overhead lights. 

"Yes, it is." I respond patting his back, so he wouldn't go back to sleep. 

He slowly stands up and stretches his sore muscles. A soft smile finds its way to my face as I stare at his adorable expression.  I reach out and touch the end of his hair, liking the feeling of it. I stiffen at my thoughts and move away from him.

He yawns and walks slowly, groaning and cursing. I laugh and catch him as he stumbles. 

"Why don't you just heal yourself?" I said helping him to his locker. He moans and groans across the gym, releasing low curses that every werewolf could hear.

"I won't. I like the way my body burns. It makes me feel alive." He smiles and yelps when Mora throws a water bottle at him. The bottle hovers in front of his face and he stuck his tongue at her.   

"You can use magic to catch a bottle, but not heal yourself. Very productive." He grins at me and stumbles his way into the locker room. He grabs his bags and leans against his locker as he breathes heavily. 

I sigh and chew the inside of my cheek. "I guess we won't make it to my house today. Do you want help getting home?"

He opens his arms wide, and I turn my back to him and bend down. I hold my breath as his scent surrounds me, awakening feelings that I wish to forget.  My heart starts racing as his arms encircle my neck and his legs, my waist. We pass by the gym where Mora looms over Willow while Kaiden holds her back. 

I pause and slowly starts walking toward them. Eros tightens his arms around my neck, pressing his face against mine.

 "I say that we don't interfere." He whispers in a low tone. My voice catches in my throat and I bit my lips to stop shivering. "They have it under control."

Are you good, Kaiden? Need any help? I ask through our pack link. Kaiden tenses and look at me worryingly. He sees Eros on my back and winks at us.

Yeah. We got this under control. Have a nice date~ He teases and I regret offering my help.

"Let's go." Eros rubs his cheek against mine. 

"You're trying to seduce me, aren't you?" I ask in a low voice. Mora sees us, and her eyes widen with a knowing smile on her face. I blush and walk faster.

"Ah. What gave me away?" Eros asks feigning surprise. I roll my eyes and he chuckles. "It's no surprise that I like you. Since you don't believe me, I must convince with all my masculine charms."

So many mornings that I woke imagining this moment, I still can't help but feel that this is a lie. A trick for me to lower my guard, so I can be hurt and betrayed. I can't help but wonder why?

"What's the catch?" I wonder out loud. I walk through the deserted sidewalk of the school with my heartbeat thundering in my ears. "What's your endgame?"
