Chapter 50
***Eros***
I woke up to the sound of my growling stomach. I shift and touch my side, but it was cold. I open my eyes and squint at the dim room.
For a moment, a hint of panic flutter in my chest but I squash it down. Everything was fine. It needs to be.
I pull the covers up to my chin and debate whether or not I should wake up. In a short while, the warmth of my bed lulls me back to sleep once more.
"I thought I heard you."
I groan and open my eyes once more. In front of me, stood Jade with a towel wrapped around his waist as he dried his hair with another one.
We stare at each other and I blush, recalling what happened yesterday. He reveals his hickey blatantly and didn't seem to care about how it affected me.
"Are you alright?" Jade tilts his head and the light catches his hair, turning them silver.
I struggle to sit up and look up at him. He bends down to my level and smirk. A small smile makes its way to my face and I kiss him.
When I pull away, he frowns and kisses me again, but deeper this time.
He smiles, satisfied.
"Are you still tired?" He asks.
I shake my head and move his hair away from his forehead. How did I get so lucky? I stare at the strand of hair in my hand and stiffen.
Jade notices and shrugs. "I'm not sure what happened either, but don't I look cooler?"
I stare at grey hairs mixed with brown and felt sick. The sight seems to pour cold water all over my mood. It was like there was a knot in my stomach, but, underneath, I could feel a twisted sense of satisfaction. I had left a mark on him.
"I'm sorry." I whisper, laying my head on his shoulders. I didn't know if it was because of his hair or what I was about to do.
"It's not your fault."
He was being nice. It was definitely my fault. Sometimes during the night, I had lost control and my magic affected him. Like the parasite it was, it had drained him of some of his vitality, turning some of his hair greys.
"But, it is." I respond.
"Even if it is, I don't mind. So, don't try to pull away from me now." He warns.
I'm not sure how I felt. I know my conscience will hit me sometimes later, but, now, I stare at him unabashedly. All I could think about was his hands on my naked shoulders and the way we fitted the previous night. The silver streaks in his hair made him more attractive. For a moment, I was proud of my work.
And that made me feel ashamed. Like a useless piece of trash that will never get rid of its obsessive and possessive core.
I'm not sure if he saw the bleak look on my face, but Jade wraps his arms around me. We laid in bed until the cautious knocks on the door disturb us.
"Hey, man. I'm heading to Kaiden's room to play some video games. Do you want to tag along? Jade can also come." Raol yells from outside.
"Why am I an afterthought?" Jade sits up furiously, but I could see the small smile on his face.
"When did I give a crap about you?" Raol replies drily. "Anyway, just head up to Kaiden's room. I'm picking up some pizza for us in the cafeteria."
Before Jade could respond, the front door opened and closed. He rolls his eyes and ruffles my hair.
Before he could ask, I shake my head.
