Chapter 47

*Lmaoo. What is even a deadline?*

I bounce from foot to foot in anticipation, pushing my father and Elder Joseph to the farthest corner of my mind. Kaiden shoves his phone in my face and looks at me expectantly. I look at the screen and laughs at the meme. His gaze softens and he lays his head on my shoulder. 

Eros trails behind Jade and catches up to the group. I caught his smirk and he shakes his head.

  The man is beyond whipped. He mouths, leaning against Jade who patted his head.  

Speak for yourself. I said, directly through our bond. His eyes widen and he massages his forehead.

I don't think I'll ever get used to that. He responds and I shrug, hiding a smile, It seems that he was less guarded to me now. 

Raol arrived last with Delilah and some familiar people behind her. Carly snarls and his shoulder droops.

"They wanted to come along. Is it a problem?"

Carly's face contorts in disgust. "Which part of 'group date', didn't you get?"

"Mora." Nicholas waves at me and I wave back wildly. Leo smiles shyly and stands next to a werewolf and vampire couple, Kison and Vienne. The twins and the fairy bitch, Vivian, stood together, glancing at Kaiden from time to time.

"Shall we go?" Delilah asks, activating a portal. Carly rolls her eyes and trudges behind me. 

The moment we step into the aquarium, the large group separates. Delilah scans everyone's bracelet and told them that they could project themselves as any marine life. We stood under a glass bridge that had fishes swimming through it.  

I poke the glass next to me tentatively and a clownfish stops and advances toward the glass.  It opens its mouth and hisses, revealing a mouth full of teeth. I shudder and a grin flutter to my face.  

It was one of the most impressive things I've seen. 

I scan it and watch as a hologram of the fish hover over my bracelet. Before I could touch it, Kaiden grabs my hand away and shakes his head. I pout and turned back to Delilah who was still lecturing,

"Please make sure to grab a headset and a seat before projecting yourself. We don't need any accidents. I'll see you guys in a few hours."

Wasting no seconds, she disappears. We spent the remaining time looking at the different species. Every time I spot a cute fish to scan, Kaiden would pull me away while saying that I would be eaten.

Carly spots a shark and grabs a headset.  She grabs my arms as the shark draw closer. It opens its mouth and we unconsciously draw closer until our heads hit the class, bringing us back to our senses. Kaiden tsks and takes a picture. 

"If you don't scan it, I will." I mumble, still bewitched. 

Kaiden pulls me away and  Carly scans the shark happily. Her body shimmers and disappears and appears next to the shark who blinks at her in shock. It nudges her hard and starts chasing her.  We cheer her on and Raol laughs as he records her misery. 

Finally, Carly runs toward us and passes through the glass. Her body materializes on the floor with a bewildered look on her face. The shark hits the glass resentfully and stalks away. 

"What the fuck?" She gasps. 

"How was it?" We crowd her, our eyes shining.

"Fucker was looking for a mate since it's mating season." She spits out resentfully and we laugh.
