Chapter 55 - Epilogue

***Mora***

The way Alpha Black eyes flares, when Kaiden told him that we were moving out, tickle my fancy. His enraged eyes turned to me and I raise my brows, just for him to frown and turn away.

"What about your guards?" He asks, gruffly.  He clenches his jaws so tightly that veins began to pop out in his neck, and I fight the urge to laugh.

"I don't think that's going to be a problem seeing how I took down your beta." I remind him and his frown deepens, making me smile.

It was a bit hypocritical because I knew he was relieved that Kaiden was leaving, but he still put on the caring front.

The next few days consist of us packing our belonging and dealing with emotional pack members. My parents were nowhere to be seen since their visit to the hospital after I told them it would be better to end our ill-fitted relationship there.

I couldn't help but compare my mother from the illusion, who not only looked at me with clear eyes but also remembered me, to my actual one, who was confused and uncertain how I fit in her life.  So, I decided to free her for her peace of mind.

"Aria is downstairs." Kaiden interrupts my thoughts and sets his suitcase against the door. "She found a way to trace the locket."

Kaiden was wearing sweatpants and an old t-shirt, which gave him a carefree and homely vibe.

"How?" I ask, moving out of the way of the movers.

"She is not sure, but she says that it'll be a physical transformation. She needs something of Willow for it to work." He picks Mixu and Blob sits next to his feet.

I stare at the big hellhound in amusement as it rubs against Kaiden's legs. It grew so much in our absence while Mixu only grew a bit fatter.

"That won't be a problem." I said, pointing out of the window.

Kaiden follows my finger and sees Carly.  He chuckles and heads downstairs, pulling his suitcase downstairs with Blob close to his heels.

I stare at the almost empty room in a complicated room.

"Is this yours?" A worker asks, handing a small suitcase. I thank him and open it.

There were many things in the suitcase. There were dried flowers, a torn dress, a teddy bear, an empty bottle of alcohol,  an earing pouch, and a familiar rock. I pick up the rock and smile at the ever-changing colors. Weren't these from our dates?

Kaiden bursts into the room and his eyes widen when it lands on the suitcase.  He blushes and tugs it out of my hand.

"It's for the memories." He mumbles and rubs the back of his neck. "Come on. It's time to leave."

I fight the urge to tease him and follow him downstairs.  When we arrive downstairs, Alpha Black wraps his arms around Kaiden, his face full of emotions. The Luna stifles her cries, but her face contorts in distress as tears drip down her face.

I take a few steps back from the emotional family and leans against the wall of the house.

They finally release Kaiden, whose eyes were red, and open their arms toward me. I cringe and hold out a hand in front of me.

Thankfully, the sound of horns interrupts them and they shake my hands affectionately before they head out of the house. In the front, the moving trucks start rolling out and a crowd surrounded them.

I fight the urge to growl at them and grasp the rock in my hand tighter. It seems that the pack warmed up to me after I fought their Beta, who betrayed them. They apparently take great pride in my strength and what it means to the other pack. Fucking tools, all of them.
