Chapter 41

Kaiden's eyes' soften as he admires the pink marks on his chest and his wrists. He was in utter bliss.  He turns to his side and his smile widens at the sight of his mate.

"I told you to wrap your hair before going to sleep." He mumbles hoarsely, tugging at one of Mora's curls.

His hand slides over her brows and her nose and caress the corners of her mouth. He bites his lips and slips his thumb into the crevice of her mouth, just for Mora to bite it. Kaiden hisses and nurses his bruised thumb.

"Why are you being a creep so early in the morning?" Mora opens her eyes and stretches.

Her messy bun releases her tight curls into the pillow while her enchanting golden eyes glimmer against her dark skin. Like a Goddess, Kaiden thought.

"I love your eyes. The way the shine-"

Mora groans and throws the covers off in a hurry.  She pretends to gag and Kaiden laughs.

"It's true!" He protests and sits up. "The way it contrasts against your skin tone makes it even more startling. And your lithe body." Mora throws a water bottle at him. "It is perfect with the right amount of muscle and the perfect height for me to hug. "

"Oh My fucking Goddess. Spare me. Please."  Mora rolls her eyes and speedwalks into her bathroom.

Kaiden laughs and groans when he feels the soreness of his muscle. He takes a few sips of water, soothing his parched throat, and then fell back against the pillows.

Mora peeks her head out of the bathroom with a toothbrush hanging from her mouth. "Make sure to bring all of your stuff from your room. You're living with me from now on."

"Oh." Kaiden muses and cocks his head flirtily. "I thought we were taking a break."

Mora's eyes turn frigid and Kaiden chokes.

"Too soon?" He laughs, stumbling off the bed in a panic. Damn his mouth.

Mora nods but her eyes were still cold. She sighs.

"I don't know why you think we would break up because I lost my 'emotions'." She quotes with her fingers. "It's not like it happened naturally nor did I lose my memories. I even went to the white mage and Sebastian, and they reassure me that whatever that was taken would return naturally. And even if they didn't,"

Mora pauses and smirk. "I would never willingly let you go. So, don't worry your pretty little head. You're stuck with me forever." She winks and slides back into the bathroom.

Kaiden blushes and tries to remember where his pants went. He gasps at the clean spotless floor and his neatly folded clothes on the cabinet. Mora was learning.

On his way to his room, people stare at him in a strange way. Kaiden frowns and hurries to his room. Did they hear him last night?  He fights the blush climbing its way to his ears and his heartbeat increases.

When he enters his room, one of his roommates gulps and stares at his hoodie.

"You alright, man?" He asks, fidgeting with his mug. "Do you need help with anything?"

Kaiden raises an eyebrow and narrows his eyes. "I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"It's nothing. I just want you to know that I am here if you want to talk." He rubs the back of his neck and laughs awkwardly.

Kaiden nods and he sips his coffee while avoiding his gaze. He walks to his room and stares at his packed suitcase in a daze. So, did they hear him or not? In his roommate's eyes, there was no disgust, only sympathy.
