Chapter 53

*Warning: Light gore*

It was a solemn day.

Mora sits, frozen in her chair, as Kaiden braids the last cornrow. She stares out the window and her fingers tighten into fists.

"All done." Kaiden said, massaging the back of her neck.  His green eyes had lost their usual vibrant happiness, locking away his thoughts.

After Mora had crawled in the bed after their fight, they didn't talk about it anymore. They didn't talk about anything these days.

Mora blinks and the haze covering her thoughts dissolve. She nods and Kaiden picks up his coat.

His black suit hugs his figure, elaborating his lean muscle. On his waist, an intricate gold belt contains multiple knives and weapons.

"I'll be waiting for you downstairs with the others." He looks back at her and they stare at each other.

Mora hums in agreement and Kaiden leaves the room.  The coldness of the room permeate to her bones, but Mora could only sigh.

She pulls on her uniform. The black pants hang high on her waist while the white top with black and gold designs hugs the top of her body.

Mora stares at herself in the mirror and scowls. In contrast to Kaiden's cold green ones, her gold eyes shine with intensity.

Everything would be over after today.  Her mouth tilts into a small smile. She would be free and the leash of her past would be gone.

At last, she pulls on the black and gold gloves and leaves the room.

**Mora's fit without the cape but her top is closed with long sleeves.

As she walks out of the elevator,  her steps grew steadier and her heart calmer

As she walks out of the elevator,  her steps grew steadier and her heart calmer. Willow materializes next to her, but Mora didn't spare her a glance.

Mora stops in front of her teammates, each of their faces reflecting their pride and anticipation.

With her in the lead, they head toward the courtyard together.  When they arrive, the courtyard was filled with people. Many groups were uniforms, but for some reason, Mora's group stood out the most.

Maybe it was because of the fierce look on their captains' faces or maybe the different style of their uniforms. But, as they walk by, people couldn't help but suck in a breath in awe.

Eros nervously tugs at his sleeves and Jade leans against him, comforting and grounding him. Meanwhile, Carly's whole attention was on Willow and she didn't notice when they stopped in front of the stage. She crashes against Raol who rolls his eyes.

Everyone was lovestruck, except for him. Looking at their foolish expressions,  Raol counts himself lucky to escape cupid's arrow.

The white mage walks on the stage and holds up a hand. Everyone quiets down.
