Chapter 20 - Accept and Move On

Sapphire’s P.O.V.

“I love you, Sapphire! Can you be my Wendy?”

Nagulantang ang mundo ko sa sinabi niya. Hindi ko alam kung pano ako magre-react. Ang tagal kong hinintay na sabihin mo yan, Luhan. Kaso huli ka na.

“I’m sorry, Luhan but I’m already married.”

He blinked for a few times and looked away. I saw a tear escaped from his left eye. After seeing that, I also started breaking down. Tears began to fall from my eyes. I wiped them off quickly. Kris will be here any minute now. I don’t want him to see me like this.

Huminga ako ng malalim para mapigilan ang sarili ko sa tuluyang pag-iyak. “Whooo!” I approached Luhan and helped him stand up.

“I’m so sorry, Luhan!,” I started apologizing. “Sobrang tagal kong hinintay na marinig sayo yan, Luhan. You know how much I loved you before. I’m really sorry, but you’re too late.” I showed him my wedding ring. “I’m now happy with someone else.”

He can’t look straight to my eyes. I saw him bite his lower lip.

Luhan’s P.O.V.

I bit my lower lip. I’m holding back my feelings. I don’t want her to see me crying. Damn this holding back of feelings! It’s the main reason why I lost the girl I love. And she’s never coming back. I just thought she’s coming back, but no. Yes, she came back but with someone else.

“But I can still come back to you, Luhan.” I looked at her. Are you reading my mind, Sapphire? “As Tinker Bell.” She gave me a smile. The smile that I always want to see. The smile that captivated my heart. The smile that I don’t deserve.

Then, she hugged me. “I love you, Luhan! I always did. It’s just that the way I love you now changed.”

She leaned backwards and looked at me directly. “Alala mo pa ba nung mga panahong kinukulit kita every morning?,” she asked smiling. “I’m always asking you what role I can play. Now, you’re asking me to be your girlfriend. I’m so sorry, but I don’t have the ability to be one.” She gave me a sad face and looked down.

I shook my head and made her look at me by holding her chin up. I gave her a smile even though deep inside, I’m hurting. “Hindi ko na pala kontrol ang role na gagampanan mo.” I chuckled. Dati, kahit anong gusto ko, sinusunod mo. When I ask you to be my sister, you’re there. To be my best friend, you’re there. To be my schoolmate, you’re there. But to be my girlfriend…

She also chuckled. “Nakatali na ko eh.” She showed her wedding ring again. It’s pain in the eyes. “But I can still be your sister.”

“Aww… Hindi ba pwedeng maging kunwaring asawa na lang kita?” I gave her a wink.

Then someone pulled Sapphire away from me. “I’m sorry, Luhan pero ako ang tunay na asawa,” Kris said smirking. I hid the ring while Kris is showing me his wedding ring. From now on, I curse all wedding rings. Tch. Just kidding. But really, jokes are half meant.

Sinuntok siya ni Sapphire nang mahina sa balikat at tinawanan lang niya ito. Tch. Sa harap ko pa talaga? Okay, I don’t have the right to be jealous. Ibinaling sakin ni Sapphire ang tingin niya. Damn those eyes! They’re always making me fall. I can’t stop loving you~ Unfortunately, I have to prevent myself from loving you more. ‘Coz you can’t be mine anymore. “Oo naman, Luhan.
