The Last Day Of Summer
"Can you believe it? Tomorrow, you and I will step into Northside as seniors!" Ivy beamed, as we walked out of the ice cream shop. It was the last day of summer and school was starting back tomorrow, which I was somewhat excited and nervous about.
"I know right!" I smiled, walking up to the counter. "I just hope you don't embarrass me like you did last year, when we were juniors."
"I didn't mean to dump my lunch tray on you, and you know that. I seen Gabriel and he was just looking so cute, which caused me to not pay attention to where I was going!" She sighed, smiling as she started to blush.
Ivy, Gabriel, and I have been inseparable since we were babies and Ivy developed a crush on him a few years ago. I tried to get them together a few times, but unfortunately...he didn't see Ivy in a romantic way. Instead...he saw me in a romantic way, which never made any sense to me, but I never questioned it. Sure, he was cute and all, but I could never do that to her. I loved her like she was my sister, even though we were cousins, I still sometimes claimed her as my sister since we almost looked exactly alike; with the exception of our different features.
"Okay Ivy...senior challenge. This year, I want you to focus more on trying to date anybody else that's not Gabe. I know you like him and all, but there's plenty of fish in the sea and they'd be lucky to have you."
"Ugh...seriously?"
"Seriously." I said, looking over at her. "Gabe already thinks of you as a sister, therefore...you should find someone that thinks of you as a girlfriend." She pouted a little, sighing heavily as she nodded her head.
"Alright fine. Challenge accepted."

"Mila! Stay out of my makeup! Stay outta my room!" I shouted, shoving my little sister out of my bedroom. I swear, I love her to death, but she annoys the hell out of me. I had just got back home, after parting ways with Ivy, and found Mila rummaging through my makeup bag. She was only fifteen years old, but for some reason...she was so eager to develop and I didn't understand why she was rushing. She had plenty of time to wear makeup, skimpy clothes, and all that other stuff so what's the rush?
"I'm sorry, but you promised me that you'd teach me how to do my makeup!" She whined. "I wanted to learn so that I could wear some tomorrow for school."
"You're only fifteen, and we both know dad isn't going to allow you to wear any makeup. Therefore...you'll just have to stick with the lipgloss I gave you." She huffed and crossed her arms, pouting as she frowned up her face. "Goodbye." I slammed the door in her face and walked over to my bed, plopping down on my stomach as I grabbed my vibrating phone.
Ivy: I forgot to ask you this, but do you know what you're wearing tomorrow?
Me: Ugh, not at all, but when I figure it out...I'll take a picture and send it to you.
Ivy: Yes! Please and thank you!
"Bella!" I heard my mom call. I rolled out of bed and hurried out of my room, entering my parents bedroom.
"Yes ma'am?"
"Your grandma dropped off some school supplies for you and your sister, which by the way...you really hurt her feelings." She said, looking over at me.
"I didn't mean to. She was messing around in my makeup and I just don't get why she's so eager to grow up. It's really not that fun." I said, climbing into my parents bed with my dad, little brothers, and younger sister. There was a total of five of us and if I'm being honest...my parents should've stopped after they had me and Mila. Don't get me wrong, I love my siblings to death, it's just that we all get on each others nerves.

Alayah - 1"You know how I feel about my girls wearing makeup. I think everyone should be natural, including you baby." He said, looking over at mom.
"I can actually not wear makeup and still be fine as wine, so I don't have a problem with it."
"I agree." I giggled. My parents were so playful and I loved that about them. They always found a way to laugh and play around, even when they were mad at each other. "Why didn't grandma stay over? She said she was going to help me organize my binder like she did last year, so I wouldn't be disorganized."
"She had something to do with your grandfather, but she'll be back over here later on." My mom assured me. "In the meantime, pick what you want and make sure that you pack up your backpack and pick out your clothes for tomorrow." What am I twelve? I thought to myself. I wanted to say it out loud, but I decided against it. My mom has a tendency of hitting first and asking questions later, and I did NOT want to open that can of worms. Not at all.
"How come granny didn't bring me any supplies?" My nine year old brother, Cairo, asked.
"Because your uncles brought you and your brother supplies, boo. We've already been over this."
"Ohhhhh."
"Hey Mila! You want the pink supplies or the purple?" I called out, knowing damn well that I was going to take all the pink supplies. I just love the color pink!
"I don't know why you even asked." She voiced, walking into the room. "You're going to take the pink ones regardless." Awwww, she knows me soooo well!
"Well I was trying to me mindful, just in case you wanted at least one of the pink folders or something, but...say no more." We divided up the supplies and carried them into our rooms, getting ready for tomorrow, as we packed up our backpacks and picked out our first day outfits. Of course, my outfit had to be flawless, only because I had a reputation of wearing the best clothes and shoes. I try not to flaunt my style around, but I can't help it. Fashion is the way of life.
(So The First Chapter Sucked, But I Was Just Trying To Incorporate Talia, Dean, And The Rest Of The Clarke Clan Into The First Chapter. I'll Be Doing The Same With Ivy In The Next Chapter.)
