Bella Clarke
Gabriel and I were walking together, while Mila walked ahead of us, with her headphones in her ears. I felt bad about how I talked to him early this morning, when all he wanted to do was pursue a relationship with me, but I refused to do so until Ivy stopping liking him.
"I'm sorry about how I talked to you earlier." I began, looking up at him. "Yes, I do like you, but I love my relationship with Ivy more. I'm sure you can understand that."
"Of course I understand, but how do you know that she won't give us her blessing?" He asked me.
"Because I just know. She's been obsessed over you for as long as I can remember, and if she found out that we were even thinking of being in a relationship...she'll never forgive us."
"You wanna know what I think?"
"No, not really." I was about to walk off, but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back, pressing himself against me. I didn't know whether to be scared or turned on, but honestly...I think I was both.
"I think that you want to be with that fuck boy, Lucas, which is why you're not trying to fuck with me on that type of level. On top of that, you tryna use Ivy to cover your tracks, but you know what? I'm done trying to be with you. You want to be with that nothing ass nigga? Go ahead, I won't stop you." He let my arm go and turned and walked off, leaving me standing there all hot, bothered, and a little sad.
"What was that about?" Mila asked, standing next to me.
"Nothing important. Come on, let's go." I was quiet on the rest of the walk home and I couldn't help but to feel bad about what just went down between me and Gabe. See why I didn't want to be in a relationship with him? Just us liking each other was putting a serious strain on our friendship. "We're home!" Cairo and Zaiden were already home, running through the house, along with Alayah and our two little cousins; Kenia and Jonah.
"Bella Bellz! Mila Millz! My two favorite nieces!" Our Uncle Jude announced, running out of the kitchen. "Aw shit. Don't tell LayLay I said that. That little girl there is the spawn of Satan."
"Fuck off, Jude! Quit talking bout my damn kids!" Our dad called out from the kitchen, making us laugh.
"I can't help that you have so many demons!"
"Jude, don't make me kick your ass. Stop talking about our kids!" Our mom voiced, coming down the stairs. As you can see...it gets pretty crazy around her sometimes. "Hi girls. How was school?"
"Good." We both answered.
"That's good. I want to hear all about it, but first I need to go kill your uncle." Out of nowhere, our Uncle Jude took off running, making us laugh harder as we headed upstairs to our rooms. I had to find a way to apologize to Gabriel again, but how was I going to do that?
Sighing heavily, I laid across my bed and started scrolling through my Facebook page, noticing that I had a message from Lucas.
Lucas BigMoney Biltmore: Wussup beautiful? 😉
Bella Clarke: Hey what's up?
Lucas BigMoney Biltmore: Not shit, just got home. You was looking good today, ma. Though you always look good whenever I see you. 😏
My heart skipped a beat as I rolled over onto my stomach, smiling widely as I responded to him.
Bella Clarke: Lol thank you. I honestly didn't think that you notice me.
Lucas BigMoney Biltmore: Shit, how could I not? You're the whole package. 😉😘
Bella Clarke: I can say the same about you. 😍😘
My flirt game was weak as hell, but I was also trying to play it cool so I wouldn't come off as a giddy girl that was excited because my crush was talking to me.
Lucas BigMoney Biltmore: Is that right? What you got going on this weekend?
Bella Clarke: Nothing really, why?
Lucas BigMoney Biltmore: I'm having a back to school party at my crib and I want you to come through. You can bring your friends too, if you want.
Bella Clarke: Sure thing. We'd love to come.
Lucas BigMoney Biltmore: Aight cool. I'll see your cute ass tomorrow
The smile that was plastered on my face was a mix between a goofy grin and an overly excited Joker's grin. I can't believe that Lucas just invited me to his party, especially when I didn't think that he even knew I existed. Sure, we've known each other since middle school, but he never showed any interest in me until now. Wasting no time, I dialed Ivy's number so I could tell her the exciting news.
"Hey Bella." She answered.
"You will never guess who messaged me on Facebook!" I shrieked. Ugh, I was too excited for words.
"Who?"
"Lucas! He's having a party this weekend and he invited us and our friends to attend." I told her.
"Seriously?!" She shrieked. "Oh damn! I can't go!"
"What? Why?"
"I'm staying with my mom for the weekend, remember? I made a deal with her and now I have to stay at her house on the weekends." She huffed.
"Do you think she'll let you go? I mean...I understand if you don't want to, but she does owe you because she's been gone for so long." I knew how bad Ivy and her mom's relationship was, but she had my Aunt Syd to fall back on.
"Are you kidding? Of course I want to, but I don't know if she'll let me go or not. I'll ask her though, and if she says no...I can always cue the crocodile tears." I laughed a little, knowing that Ivy was the best fake crier I had ever seen, and she literally got whatever she wanted when she faked a cry. "But what else did Lucas say? I can't believe he messaged you!"
"I know right! Though our conversation was short, he was basically complimenting me on my looks and saying that I was the whole package."
"Awwww! Ya'll will be dating soon enough, I can feel it!" She beamed.
"I hope so! I really do."
