Ivy Booker
August 7th
(1:23pm)
After hanging out with Bella, we parted ways and headed home, so we could get ready for our official first day of school. Believe it or not, I was extremely nervous, only because I always found a way to do something stupid to embarrass both me and Bella, but not this year. This year, I was determined to not make a complete fool of myself.
*Walking into the house, I could hear a heated argument going on in the living room, while my two younger siblings, TJ and Sariyah, were sitting on the stairs listening to everything that was going on.
"What's going on?" I asked them. "Why is mom and dad arguing?"
"They're not. Your mama's back and she wants to take you away." TJ grumbled. I had a very close relationship with both my little brother and sister, so I could tell that they were upset about my mom being here, but they should know that I'm not going anywhere.

Sariyah - 11I furrowed my eyebrows and walked into the living room, seeing my parents standing inches away from each other. It was clear that they didn't even notice that I had entered the room, but my stepmom sure did.
"Hey Ivy, you're back." She voiced, making both my dad and my mom look at me.
"There's my sweet girl!" My mom smiled, rushing over towards me, wrapping her arms around me and hugging my tight. I didn't return the hug as I glanced at my dad, who just sighed and shrugged his shoulders. I hadn't seen or heard from my mom in months. Normally, she'd just pop up out of the blue, spend almost a half of a minute with me, and then run off again with her comedian husband.
"What are you doing here, mom?" I asked, pulling myself out of her hold.
"That's no way to greet your mother, is it? Oh my God, look at you. You've gotten taller since the last time I saw you." She tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear, smiling as tears filled her eyes a little.
"Which was what? Eight months ago?" I questioned, grabbing her hand. I really didn't want her touching me. "Yeah, I tend to grow every time you leave for months at a time."
"I understand that you're upset baby girl and I feel terrible about leaving you and going on tour with your stepdad, but-"
"Stepdad my ass!" My dad spat, cutting her off.
"Tevin! Stop!" My stepmom said.
"Anyways, like I was saying, I regret leaving you here and I want to make it up to you."
"How?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"I want you to come and live with me." I furrowed my eyebrows, looking back at my siblings, as they gazed at me with sad eyes. "We just purchased a beautiful house not too far from here, and I want you to come stay with us."
"You can't be serious."
"Same shit I said!" My dad said. "You ain't about to walk up in my damn house, trying to take my daughter up out of here, all because you're ready to be a parent! That's not how that shit works!"
"First of all, I've always been her parent! Just because I allowed her to live here with you, doesn't mean that I just up and abandoned her!" She snapped at him. When I was younger, there was a time where my parents would never argue in front of me. In fact, that they were actually pretty close, as if they were the best of friends. But now? You couldn't even be in the same room with them, without getting a serious headache.
"Allowed? You didn't allow shit! Ivy had to stay with me, because she wasn't about to go on tour with you and your raggedy ass husband!"
"Daddy, please quit yelling." I groaned, grabbing both sides of my head. "Mom...I'm sorry, but I don't want to move in with you."
"Why not?" I could hear the hurt in her voice, and I wasn't trying to say what I said to hurt her, but I've lived with my dad half my life and I'm not about to leave his nest because she's finally ready to stay put and be a family.
"Because this is my home and I don't want to leave."
"And you don't have to, Lil Shawty." My dad assured me, as he walked over to where I was and wrapped his arm around me. I smiled a little, only because he's been calling me Lil Shawty since I was a baby. I loved it.
"Okay well...I understand and I respect that." She sighed, fanning her teary eyes. Ugh...here comes the waterworks. "But I really think you should come stay with me."
"How about this...I can come and stay with you on the weekends. You can come pick me up Friday nights and bring me back home Sunday evenings. How does that sound?" I asked, coming up with an arrangement that would work for everyone.
"Okay that's fine. At least we'll get to spend time together and make up for lost time." She pulled me into her arms and hugged me, but again...I didn't return the hug.
"Yeah...okay, mom. Enough hugging." I pulled myself out of her hold, allowing her to kiss my cheek.
"Before I go, I brought you some things for school. A few outfits, some school supplies, and some shoes." She said, pointing over at the bags that were sitting on the floor.
"Oh...okay, thanks mom. I'll um...I'll call you later on before I go to bed." I assured her.
"Okay. I love you so much, Ivy."
"I know. I love you too." She kissed my forehead and looked back at my dad, before leaving the house. I sighed heavily and scratched my head, looking over at my dad.
"Aight, let's pack up and move before she comes back." My dad said, making me laugh a little. "You sure you want to stay at her house on the weekends? You know I don't trust that nigga she married to."
"I know, but it's only fair that I give her a chance to make up for all the time she missed. I'll be fine. Besides, I have that stunt gun that mom gave me just in case." I smirked.
"And you use it if you have to, baby girl!" My stepmom said, making me laugh. She was more of a mom to me than my actual mom and I loved her so much.
"Oh, I will." I assured her.
