Bella Clarke
Bella's Outfit
I was leaning up against Gabe's locker, listening to him rant on and on about whatever he was ranting on about, but I was too distracted looking for Tay so I could talk to him. For the last few days, he's been giving Ivy the could shoulder, and I'm just over how everyone was acting towards her. Yes, she made a mistake, but who hasn't?
"Babe? BABE!" Gabe shouted, making me look at him. "Have you heard a word I said?"
"Hm? Yeah babe, I'm listening." I lied.
"What I say then?"
"Ugh, you know I wasn't listening."
"Yeah I know, so why lie about it?" He asked, not hiding the irritation in his voice.
"Can we not do this right now? I'm looking for Tay so I can talk to him." I huffed, glancing down the hall.
"Talk to him about what?"
"I just want to know why he's acting so cold towards Ivy."
"Bella, you need to stay out of it. Their relationship is between them and he'll talk to her when he's ready." He said, making me roll my eyes.
"You don't find it just a little petty that he's treating her like an unwanted piece of toilet paper on the bottom of his Walmart brand shoes?" He laughed a little, shaking his head, as he grabbed my hand.
"I don't like what's going on between them any more than you do, but I'm staying out of it because it's not my place to try and fix them."
"I understand that, but Ivy's been a broken mess for days and I at least want to try and mend things with her and Tay. I tried to do so with her and my Uncle Tevin, but I was told to stay in a child's place, which is stupid because I'm almost eighteen, but whatever." I saw Tay approaching his locker and I quickly walked over towards him, ignoring Gabe as he tried to stop me from going over to him. "Hey Tay, can we talk?"
"No, we can't." He grumbled, opening his locker. I slammed it closed, causing him to glare at me, but he should know that he doesn't scare me and I wasn't backing down.
"Great, this will only talk a minute. What's going on with you? Why have you been giving Ivy the cold shoulder?" I asked him.
"Look, what's going on between me and Ivy is between me and her. Stay out of our business and get some of your own!" He reopened his locker and I slammed it closed once again, making him huff. "Bella, listen-"
"No, you listen! I understand what Ivy did was pretty messed up, but it wasn't because of you! Her relationship with her mom has always been rocky, and if I'm being honest...Jackie had it coming. But Ivy feels terrible about everything and she needs you now more than ever, so can you please just stop being a dick and go talk to her?" I was trying so hard to keep a calm voice, because in reality...I wanted to cuss this boy out and tell him to go straight to hell. Maybe he's right though. Maybe I should just mind my business and let whatever happens between them happen on its on, but then again...I wouldn't be me if I didn't meddle just a little bit. That's a really big flaw that I have.
"Ivy was right. You don't know how to mind your business and keep your fucking mouth closed!" He spat. "There's more reasons why I'm not talking to her, and I'm not about to sit here and share those reasons with you! Just stay out of this before somebody gets hurt!"
"Is that a threat?" I questioned, arching an eyebrow.
"It's whatever you want it to be." He took a step towards me, basically telling me that he wanted me to smack the fuck out of him, but thankfully Gabe stepped in and pulled me away.
"What's the problem here?" He asked.
"The problem is that your girlfriend won't mind her fucking business!" He snapped.
"Watch your mouth, Tay. I understand that Bella crossed a line, but there's no need for you to lash out. She just has Ivy's best interest at heart, and I'm sure you of all people can understand that."
"Okay, whose side are you on?" I asked him, squinting my eyes. He side eyed me, before grabbing my hand and pulling me away from Tay.
"I told you to stay out of it!"
"How long have you known me?"
"Long enough to know when you get completely out of line." He said. "And you approaching Tay was out of line."
"I don't see it that way." I grumbled. "And you're supposed to be on my side, regardless on if I'm out of line or not!" I snatched my backpack from him and walked off, heading to class.

Once the school day was over, I found Tay at his locker and approached him once again, only this time I was going to come correct and not lash out like I almost did this morning.
"I owe you an apology." I began, not even bothering to greet him. I wasn't with the fake ass pleasantries, therefore I just wanted to say what I needed to say and go about my business.
"Actually...I owe you an apology. I've been having a rough couple of days and I took my frustrations out on you, and for that...I'm sorry."
"I'll accept your apology if you accept mine." He nodded and pulled me into a side hug, taking a deep breath as we pulled apart.
"Listen...I know that things between me and Ivy are rocky, but you have to understand...it's not good for us to be together right now." He said.
"What do you mean?" I questioned. Before he could tell me anything else, Gabe approached us with an annoyed look on his face.
"What are you doing?" He asked me.
"Talking to Tay."
"Yeah, we're good man. We both apologized and everything is cool." Tay said. " But uh...we'll talk later Bella. See ya Gabe." He walked off, leaving me standing there with a shitload of questions that he obviously had the answers to.
