Chapter 7

Chapter 7: "And what if she's on his mind as much as he in hers."

My hands were clammy while waiting for the nurse who'd clean up my wounds. I had been checked by the doctor, and I was advised to take it easy since my foot was sprained. 

"Shin, p-pwede mo ba akong samahan hanggang matapos ako?" mahinang pakiusap ko sa kanya. Hinawakan ko pa ang laylayan ng damit niya.

"Why?"

Nanlamig ako ng lumapit na ang nurse sa kama kung saan ako nakaupo. Bumaba ang tingin ko sa panlinis na dala niya. Just looking at it makes me wanna faint. Humigpit ang kapit ko sa damit ni Shin.

I guess Shin understood my dilemma without me having to voice it out. He sat beside me quietly and offered his hand to me. Nagtatanong ang tingin na ibinigay ko sa kanya. 

He looked away and said, "press my hand if it gets too painful."

For a moment, natulala lang ako sa kanya. I totally couldn't believe that I would get to hold her hand. Is this for real? He raised his eyebrows. Bahagya akong yumuko at inabot ang kamay niya. I had to take a deep breath because suddenly my heart felt too full of emotions. 

"Ang sweet naman ng boyfriend mo," sabi ng nurse.

I bit my lower lip and glanced at Shin to see his reaction. He remained quiet thus I just smiled and didn't correct the nurse. The whole time I was being treated I hardly felt the pain. Could it be because Shin is enough anesthesia for me? 

Again, he piggybacked me when I emerged from the car. I never thought it would feel so good to have him close that I would never want to let go. 

"Kenshin!" Nawala ang ngiti ko ng salubungin kami ni Ally. Jealousy is evident in her eyes though I could tell that she tried to mask it with a smile. "How are you, Tamara?"

"I'm fine. Gasgas saka na-sprain lang yung ankle ko."

She nodded. "We can ask someone to carry her, Kenshin. I'm sure you're also tired."

"It's fine. It's been a long night. We should all rest now. Good night, Ally."

"G-good night."

I bit my lower lip and held onto him tightly. He lay me down on my bed and sat down on the edge. Umawang ang mga labi ko ng inibot niya ang isang binti ko at inalagay sa kandungan niya. 

"A-ako na, Shin."

Hindi siya kumibo at itinuloy ang pag-alis ng sapatos ko. Hindi ko maiwasang pagmasdan siya. How could this guy so cold and sweet at the same time?

"Why did you do that?" 

My brows rose. "Do what?"

"Jeremy told me everything." Hindi ako kumibo. "Why did you risk your life instead of asking for help?"

I grimaced and scratched my head. "It slipped my mind to look for help."

He turned to face me. Bahagya pa akong nailang at umiwas ng tingin sa ginawa niyang pagtitig sa akin. "I could tell you're lying."

My eyes went down to my foot which had a cast. "Jeremy was so scared. I just couldn't afford to leave him there on his own."

"You risked your life in saving him." He sighed. "And got hurt."

I smiled brightly at him. "Mabilis naman itong gagaling! Ako pa ba! Saka mas okay ng si Jeremy ang bumalik sa hotel para humingi ng tulong. Medyo mahina yung sense of direction ko eh!" I said, laughing.
