*November 11- Kat's birthday*
I woke up to the sound of four very loud boys, Liz and Andy, and Amy screaming. "Happy Birthday!" They all yelled. "Oh" I said, taken aback by the sudden noise. "Thanks guys" I smiled, trying to hold back a yawn. Luckily it was a Saturday so I didn't have to deal with teachers at school calling out the fact that it was my birthday.
"Happy birthday, love" Liz smiled, pulling me into a hug as I went to stand up. "Thank you" I said again, hugging her back. Once I had hugged her and Andrew they went back downstairs to 'set up a surprise'.
I went around hugging everyone and thanking them for all the birthday wishes until I got to Ashton. "Let's leave the couple alone, everyone out" Calum said loudly, jokingly pushing everyone out. "Have fun" he winked, closing the door.
"I know you've heard it a thousand times, but happy birthday, baby" he smiled down at me, putting his hands on my hips. "Thank you Ashton" I blushed, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Anything planned for today?" he asked, gently swaying me back and forth as we talked. "Not that I know of" I answered, looking up into his hazel eyes.
He had left his hair curly, messily falling across his forehead. "You look really cute" I complimented. "Thank you" he giggled. "But you look extremely cute" he smirked. "My hair is a mess and I have a cold" I chuckled. "You're always cute" he said, kissing the tip of my nose. "That's all you" I smiled. "Kat, Ashton" Liz called from downstairs. "I guess we should go" I chuckled, not wanting to get out of his arms. "I guess so too. Come on" he said before pressing a quick kiss to my lips and walking out.
I could feel the blush on my cheeks as I walked out of my room and downstairs. As I was about to walk into the living room someone came up behind me and hugged me tightly. "Jack?" I laughed, trying to turn and see if it was really him. "Hey K" he said releasing me from his grip.
"Happy Birthday" he sang, smiling the entire time. "Thanks J. When did you get here?" I asked. "Last night. I was trying to convince Ben to take off of work today, but everything was coming up. He wanted me to tell you he loves you, happy birthday, and he misses you. Oh, and of course I had to give Ashton the talk while you were asleep" he winked.
"Jesus. You're kidding" I laughed. "Not at all, just ask him" he smirked. I looked over at Ashton to see his eyes wide with his hands up defensively. I laughed and shook my head, looking back up at Jack.
Next thing I knew I was being led into the living room by Luke and Jack. "Happy birthday!" They all yelled for what felt to be the hundredth time today. I looked to the center to see various stacks of gift bags and boxes.
"Oh my god" I gasped. "Guys." They all smiled and motioned to the piles. "Thank you all. I told you guys not to get me anything" I said, sitting down on the floor. Our usual birthday tradition was to open our gifts with everyone around, like Christmas basically.
As I went through everything and thanked everyone Ashton was sat in front of me with the biggest smirk on his face the entire time. I had saved his for last, as he wanted. "Alright Ash" I said, looking up at him as I picked up the box with his name. "Ash? That's all you got?" Calum scoffed. Amy nodded in agreement, motioning to Cal. "There is family present, Hood" I chuckled, carefully removing the ribbon tied around the box.
When I opened it I saw a card over tissue paper that was covering something else. "Read it out loud, or?" I asked him. "Whatever you want to do" he smiled sweetly. I decided to keep it to myself so it could be more special, but I knew Luke, Cal, Mike, and Amy would walk over behind me to read it as well.
And they did.

Happy birthday! I know this is the most cliche thing to do, but I figured you would like it. Moving on, I just want you to know how important you are. You're the best girlfriend I could ever ask for. I know I fuck up sometimes, but you stay with me through it and I couldn't be more grateful. I'm thankful everyday that I was blessed enough to have you in my life. Not only are you an amazing girlfriend, but in general you're an amazing girl and you truly deserve the world. I don't think you realize how humble you are. You never take advantage of anyone, you always put everyone else first, you're so caring. I'm honestly the luckiest person in the world. Please remember that I'm here for you always. I can't promise that I won't mess up, because I'm definitely not perfect. You make me a completely different person, when I'm with you I have a sense of confidence I've never had before. I love you to the moon and back, Kitten.
