Ashton Irwin likes me. I was absolutely starstruck. The boy I've avoided for years, trying to escape my feelings, has a thing for me. I had no idea what to say, how to respond. I have never had a boyfriend, or even told anyone how I felt about them, so this was terrifying for me.The only time a guy has confessed his "feelings" for me was a bet in year seven. It was well known I had a massive crush on this guy and his friends dared him to ask me out. My naive thirteen year old self, of course said yes. He then went on to say it was a dare and how he would never date anyone like me because I wasn't your normal perfect popular girl.
Back to reality, I need to tell Ashton how I feel. "Really?" I stammered nervously, glancing down at my hands. "Yes" he said, obviously holding his breath. "I-" I paused. Am I really about to do this? "I like you too" I finally let out. "Wait. You're kidding, no way" He said with a smile. "I'm really not" I laughed quietly. "For how long?" he asked. "That's a conversation for a different time" I smiled, not wanting him to know just yet I've been ignoring my feelings for years now.
What happens next? Am I supposed to say something? "Well, I really should get back to the guys before they figure it out. Luke's already suspicious enough. You have my number, I'll give you a call later when I get back to my place. We should talk more, maybe hang out sometime. Just the two of us" He smiled as he stood up and walked to the door. "Yeah definitely. Bye Ash" I smiled back, feeling a blush come across my face. "See ya Kitty" He smirked before walking out. Once he was gone and I could no longer hear his footsteps, I screamed. I fucking screamed.
A few hours later, all the guys had just left and Liz called Luke and I down for dinner. We left our rooms, which were right next to each other at the same time. In a flash Luke was carefully pushing me back into my room. "Okay what actually happened?" He asked, crossing his arms. "What do you mean?" I asked. Luckily I've become quite a good liar over the past few months. "Don't lie to me Katrina" he said seriously. "Is there something going on between you and Ashton?" I wholeheartedly wanted to tell him the truth so we could talk about it together, but I knew he'd be pissed at both me and Ash.
I shook my head as I answered. "No. Why?" He gave me a suspicious look. "Just wondering" he said as he opened the door since Liz was calling us once again. We walked down together and sat down at the table. "Someone seems to be in a good mood today" Andrew joked. "Just happy" I smiled as Liz passed out our meals. "Thanks Mum" Luke said as we all started eating. I felt my phone buzz in my lap. I looked down to see a text from Ashton.
I knew I'd get in huge trouble if I texted at the table so I quickly ate the remainder of my dinner before rushing upstairs to my room. I closed the door behind me and basically dived onto my bed to text him back. The things I do for this boy.
Ashton Irwin: Hey Kitty
Me: Hey Ash. What's up?
Ashton Irwin: Not much. Is now a good time to call?
Me: Yeah of course
Ash: Ok
Almost instantly my phone rang. "Hey Ash" I said as I answered. I flipped over onto my stomach and adjusted my hair. Adjusting my hair is my nervous habit so around him, I probably do it way too much. "Hey Kat. I have a quick question" He addressed. "Shoot." "Are you free tomorrow? Say around 2:30?" he asked. "Yeah, I don't think I have anything going on" I replied.
"So I was wondering if you would want to go out and get some coffee and walk around the city?" he suggested. "Ash that would be great, but what about Luke?" I asked. "I already told him I'd be busy tomorrow, and you could say you were going out with some friends. If it's okay with you, I could pick you up, just make sure Luke is in his room" he planned. "Sounds great" I said with a smile. "Nice, see you tomorrow then Kitty" He said, I could hear his smile. "See you Ash. Good night" I said bubbly. "Good night" he said and hung up. "Holy shit" I whispered to myself. I jumped up and started planning outfits.
