*A few days later-1 week break*
We were finally on our break after way too much hard work these past few weeks. Got to love being a senior.
"Katrina" Ashton yelled, dragging out the 'a'. "Ashton" I mimicked as I walked downstairs, to Calum's kitchen.
I had spent the night at Cal's the night before, along with Ash, Luke, and Mike. Calum was walking around in sweatpants, being sad since Amy was on vacation to America. "You alright Cal?" I asked as I walked in to see what Ashton needed. He nodded and held his coffee in his hands. "He's still depressed" Ash joked, walking in.
"What did you need Ash?" I asked. "For you to get up, and it worked" he smiled. "I was up. I just didn't want to get out of bed" I corrected. "Please don't remind me you two slept together" Luke sighed as he walked in, Mike walking behind him. "We didn- Oh" Ashton said, of course taking it the wrong way. "Your mind is fucked up" I said as I tossed Mike and Luke energy drinks.
"What are the plans for today?" I asked. "Well, I was thinking we could go to the beach. It's still pretty hot, and it's not supposed to rain" Calum suggested. "Hell yeah" Ashton smiled and high-fived him. "I slightly smiled as I shook my head. Dorks.
"Katrina's afraid of the ocean though" Luke blurted out. "Luke!" I shouted, feeling a blush come across my cheeks. "You are?" Michael asks, a small smirk on his face. "Yeah" I said, looking down at my feet in embarrassment. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about, a lot of people are" Ashton reassured me, resting his hand on my lower back. "Thanks Ash" I smiled up at him. "See, this is why she chose him" Calum said, motioning to us.
An hour later, we were all ready for the beach. I had changed into a blue bikini. The top had a crisscross pattern that went across the front. I already knew Luke would have a problem with it, he always does. I walked out of the bathroom and into the living room, joining all the boys who were also now dressed in their swim shorts.
"Oh damn" Ashton said the second I walked in. "Kat" Luke warned. "Change" he demanded. "This is the only one I have" I explained, a slight smirk on my lips. "It's not even that bad, man" Michael defended me. He just shook his head and slightly glared at me before glancing back down at his phone.
"Anyways, who's ready?" Calum asked, standing up, lightly tilting his head forward so that his sunglasses fell on the bridge of his nose. "You're so weird" I laughed, shaking my head. "I love you too. Now, let's go Lucas" Cal smiled and pulled at Luke's arm childishly. Luke stood up as we all walked to Calum's car. We loaded the trunk with a change of clothes as well as sunscreen and towels.
Calum took the drivers seat, not wanting anyone else to drive his car. Mike took the passenger, and I sat in between Luke and Ashton in the back. "You alright?" Ashton asks, lightly tapping my leg. "Yep" I nodded, smiling.
"I won't let any scary fish bite you, okay?" he teased. I jokingly punched his now bare chest as my smile grew wider. "I'm just kidding kitty, but still, I won't let anything hurt you" he said quietly. "Thank you" I chuckled, staring into his beautiful hazel eyes. "Has anyone ever told you that your eyes are really pretty?" I asked. "No" he giggled, breaking the eye contact. "Well they are" I complimented. He subtly took my hand in his and intertwined our fingers, gently running his thumb over the top of my hand.
In that moment, all I wanted is for us to be back together officially.
Once we got to the beach, nearly an hour later with no traffic, we found parking and got out, carrying our towels and Mike carrying sunscreen and tanning oil, as well as Ashton carrying the cooler.
"Who's ready to throw Katrina in the ocean?" Luke joked. That was something him and Jack would always do when we were younger, knowing I was terrified. "Dick" I muttered, holding back a smile.
