A month has went by and the boys have been gaining hundreds of followers a day. As I walked up to the front door from a busy day at school and work I sensed something was going on. I couldn't quite figure it out but the atmosphere just felt off.
I went to turn the doorknob just to find that the door was locked. Confused, I reached into my bag and pulled out my keys. I unlocked the door and walked in, I had to get this dress off.
The house was decorated with streamers, posters reading "Congratulations", and balloons were scattered about. "What's going on?" I said quietly and put my bag down near the door.
I walked into the kitchen to see everyone sitting together talking and smiling. "Hey" I smiled suspiciously and leaned against the door frame. I was nearly tackled in hugs the second everyone looked up. "You won't believe what happened!" Liz said ecstatically. "Alright what's happening?" I asked smiling widely.
"We're moving to London!" Calum exclaimed. "Oh my god! Really?!" I said, a huge smile took over my face as I ran to hug them. "Yep" Ashton giggled. "That's amazing, congratulations" I said, pulling away from the hug.
"You guys can go upstairs and have some time alone, if you want. I'm making dinner" Liz said happily. "Thank you" We all said and walked up to Luke's room, as usual.
"Guys" I said, holding out the 's'. "Yes ma'am?" Mike chuckles. They all look so happy. "I'm so happy for you guys. I know you'll do amazing" I smiled. Luke placed his hand on my leg. "Thank you, Kat. We really appreciate it" he smiles and pulls me in for a hug. I lean on his shoulder as we continue talking.
"So have you guys found a place?" I asked, not moving from Luke's shoulder. His arm was around my waist and he was gently running his hand up and down my arm.
I smiled subtly, remembering how after my mom passed, Luke would always let me lean against him and he would rub my back or run his fingers along my arms, finally letting me sleep.
"We've been looking for about a week to be honest. We found one oddly quickly, plus it fits our budget" Calum explained, looking at the others waiting to see if they wanted to add anything. "That's great!" Amy smiles, holding Calum's hand tightly. He smiled down at her and thanked her for her support.
We sat there for a moment, just enjoying being with each other.
I was so excited for them that I didn't even think about the fact that I would hardly ever get to see them. For the past few years, I've gotten used to spending nearly every second of my life with them. Life without them is unfathomable.
"What about school?" I asked Michael and Calum. "I've convinced my mum to let me drop out. Once I explained everything to her she was really understanding and supportive" Mike said. I nodded, "That's good, I'm glad she took it well. Liz would probably kill us" I joked.
Luke nodded and let out a low laugh.
"Mine isn't really on board with the whole thing yet. She's happy for me and all, but she's nervous about my education" Cal said. "Aw, I'm sorry, Calum. I'm sure she'll come around." He smiled and started up a new conversation.
"Do you guys wanna see the house?" he asked. Amy and I nodded and I ran over to stand behind him. He went through a slide show of pictures, Amy and I stared at the phone in awe. "It's so nice" I said, gasping. "It is" Amy agreed, still looking at the house.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get out of this dress" I said, standing up. "I'll help" Ashton joked and followed me out of the room, into mine. "Careful, Irwin" Luke yelled from his room. "Hi" I giggled as he closed the door behind him. "Hi princess" he smiled, his voice low. "What's up with you?" I asked as I stood at my closet, grabbing a pair of shorts and one of Luke's old T-Shirts.
