Three months have went by. Three whole months without a few of my favorite people.
I would be lying if I said it didn't suck.
For the first week I would knock on Luke's door every morning out of habit; only to open the door and see an empty room, forcing me to remember he's gone. We haven't been able to talk as much as we thought we would, due to the huge time gap and we've all been extremely busy.
The boys have changed so much, in terms of appearance. All were good, of course. Ashton cut his hair, and it looked amazing. He wore it natural most of the time, something about his hair not reacting well to London's freezing temperature. Michael's hair was dyed a vibrant blue, and now he has a hair dye addiction, which of course worries Ashton. Plus, Luke and Calum cut off quite a bit of their fringe.
Ashton and Luke text me every morning and every night, we try to skype at least once or twice a week, not wanting to lose that close connection.
Not having Luke here to back me up if I was ever in an argument with Liz or Andy was probably one of the hardest things to learn to deal with.
About a week ago, I sent in my application for my dream school, UCLA. While they have been gone, I found a completely new passion I had no idea existed. Writing. For my Advanced Literature class, I had to write a creative essay on a world we wish existed. It completely sparked an interest in writing, and I found it to be an escape from reality.
In the middle of Chemistry, I got a text from Liz.
Aunt Liz: I have a surprise for you when you get home!
My mind automatically went to the boys coming home, but that was unrealistic. They can't come home yet, right?
As the day came to an end, I got in my car and started the drive home. I blasted music as I drove, it was one of the only things that could take my mind off of the fact that they're not here anymore.
When I finally got to the house, I stepped out of my car, slinging my book-bag over my shoulder. I held my purple coffee cup in my hand as I slowly walked to the door. "I'm home" I yelled as I closed the door behind me.
I kicked off my shoes and held them in my other hand. I walked up to my room to drop off my bags.
"Hey princess" I heard a low voice say. My face lit up and I clapped a hand over my mouth as I looked up from the ground. Ashton stood in front of me, holding a bouquet of pale pink roses with his warm arms open wide. I dropped everything and ran over to him. He engulfed me in his arms. "I missed you so much" I said, holding him tightly.
When we finally pulled away I couldn't help but stare, he looked amazing. "You look great, Kat" he smirked, looking me up and down. "Not to shabby yourself, Irwin." I giggled. He hasn't changed one bit. "Come here" he hummed and pulled me in for a kiss. As our lips connected, a smile tugged at my lips. "Damn I've missed you" He huffs as we pulled apart.
"I love your hair" I smiled, running my fingers through the now short hair. "Thank you, Kitten" he giggled and ran his hands through the front.
"As much as I would love to stay up here with you, princess, I have a surprise for you downstairs."
He took my hand and led me downstairs, to the kitchen. The second I stepped in, Luke pulled me close to him, against his chest. I didn't even need to see who it was, I knew it was Luke.
I said hello to all of the boys and asked them about London. They all seem to love it there, even though it's freezing.
"Liz, this surprise is amazing" I smiled as I hugged her and Andrew. "Hun, that's not even the surprise" she smiled as she pulled a piece of paper out of her back pocket. "A letter came for you, yesterday" she explained as she held out an envelope. "Oh god" I gasped and looked at the cover. 'UCLA'
