When the movie ended I was nearly asleep on Ashton's shoulder. "C'mon baby" he said, kissing my forehead. I opened my eyes and looked toward the door. Calum leaned against the door-frame with Michael's guitar.
"I need my drummer" Cal chuckled. "I need my drummer too" I smiled, wrapping my legs around Ash. "My best friend and my girlfriend fighting over me? Never thought that would happen" Ashton joked. I smiled at the title. We've been dating for six months now and being called his 'girlfriend' still makes me giddy.
"Where's Amy?" I asked, standing up. "Nice to see you too Kat" Calum said sarcastically. "Hi Calum. Now where's your girlfriend?" I joked. "Downstairs. Liz offered her food, she didn't decline" Cal laughed. He was so in love, it was adorable.
"I'll get the camera set up. How many instruments?" I asked. "Box drum, two guitars. No bass" Calum sighed. "Aw poor Cal."
About 30 minutes later, the set up was all done. I put out a few mics as well as multiple cameras instead of one like normal. "Looks good princess" Ash smiled. "Thank you Ash" I said trying to plan this video.
When Mike, Calum, and Amy all came down I told the boys where to sit for the best sound. "Can you always be our little director?" Mike asked. "I'm not little" I whined.
I always hated being called little, especially when Michael did it because he thought it was cute. "You are, but okay baby g-" he started before he cut himself off.
Before Ash and I dated he would always call me 'baby girl' because he knew it never failed to make me blush even if I didn't like him. "Watch it, Cliffo" Ashton glared as he sat on his box drum.
"We'll run it once or twice then film?" Luke planned. "Sounds good" Calum agreed. Mike and Ash nodded as they got ready.
Amy and I sat on the couch and listened as they practiced. They did a few vocal warm-ups, making us both laugh.
Once the practice was over and they were ready to film. I walked over and turned on all the cameras and gave them a small smile and nod, signaling that it was ready. Luke counted down and they started singing once again.
At the end of the song they all high-fived each other and talked about the song while I took down all the equipment and got ready to edit.
They put away their instruments just as I finished up. Ash came behind me and placed his hands on my hips. "You did great Ash" I smiled, turning around to see him. "Thank you" he chuckled and pulled me to the couch where everyone was sitting. "I'll upload this tonight" I told them as I leaned back onto Ashton.
About an hour later everyone went home to finish up some work before the weekend. "So what now?" I asked, standing up and stretching. "I'll start edit-" I started before I got cut off by my phone ringing. It was Mr. Carter, the manager of the restaurant. I walked to the kitchen quickly and jumped on the counter as I answered.
"Hello? Ms. Katrina Hemmings?" he asked. "Yes sir. How are you?" I asked, nervously running my free hand through my long hair. "I'm great, thank you. I have some news" he said, I could hear the smile in his voice. I stayed quiet so that he would continue.
"Katrina, you got the job!" he said. "Oh my god" I said under my breath. "Thank you so much! When should I come in?" I asked excitedly. "Is Monday afternoon alright? 4:00?" he asked. "Yes sir, that would be great. Thank you again" I said politely. "You're welcome, Ms. Hemmings. I'll see you Monday. Have a good rest of your day." "See you Monday. Have a good day" I said and hung up.
Luke and Ashton were stood in the doorway with confused faces. "I got the job!" I said excitedly. "Oh my god" They said in unison and ran over to me, engulfing me in a hug. "Congratulations" they both said. "Thank you" I said, my heart was racing.
