*Moving Day*

As I tiredly trudged down the stairs, I could hear Liz begging Luke to be careful. I smiled small to myself. It's moving day. I walked into the kitchen, smiling. Luke looked up at me and a smile appeared on his face. "Hey, Lukey" I chuckled and held my arms open. He happily walked into them and hugged me close. "Hey Kitty" he said as we pulled away.

He looked great. His hair was messy against his head, he looked so natural. He wore a red and black flannel, paired with his favorite black skinny jeans, and black checkered slip-on vans. He had a huge smile plastered on his face, his eyes glimmering with excitement.

"Today" I said happily, playing with his hands. "Today" he smiled, looking down at me. "I've said it a thousand times, but I'll say it a thousand more. I'm so proud of you, Luke." It was true. It was so true. I have never been so proud of someone in my entire life.

Luke has never given up. He, and all the boys, went from being the most popular in school, to being mocked and made fun of every second they were there. They made it.

I glanced around the kitchen, seeing his two suitcases against the wall, making me frown slightly.

"Hey" he said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Everything will be okay, promise."

About an hour later, Athena, Luke, and I were sat on the couch watching Friends, as usual. "We're meeting everyone at the airport, right?" I asked Luke; meanwhile, Athena gently nibbled on my fingers, as her tail wagged happily. "Mhm" he hummed, staring at the screen. "We have an hour until we have to leave" Luke sighed as he twirled his hair between his fingers.

"Want to go walk around?" I asked, remembering the last thing I did before I moved to Sydney to be with Luke, Liz, and Andrew. "Sounds great."

I quickly ran to the kitchen and grabbed Athena's leash and collar. When I got back to the living room, Luke held Athena in his arms and was dancing around the room. I quietly laughed as I walked over to them. "You like uncle Luke?" I asked Athena. As if she understood she barked and nuzzled her head in my hand.

As we started to walk outside Luke got silent. "What are you thinking about?" I asked, looking over to him. "Just everything that's happened here" he smiled, staring across the street at the trees. "When we were about seven, Calum and I were over in those woods and I tripped over one of the logs, almost broke my arm" He remembered.

"Do you remember when we were at the park, there," I said motioning to the slides and swings in the middle of the neighborhood. "You and Michael jumped off of the swings and Ashton had to practically carry Michael home because he felt like his legs were broken."

For nearly half an hour we walked down the subdivision, thinking of all of our old times together. We finally decided to go back home, considering we only have thirty more minutes.

When we got back, Luke and I walked up to his room, checking one last time for anything he may have forgotten. "I'll be right back" I said and hurried to my room. I searched through my nightstand drawer for an old bracelet I had made Luke at school.

"Here" I said as I walked back into Luke's room. I took his wrist and put it on, the red and black beads conveniently matched his flannel. "What's this?" he asked. I held up my wrist as well. "In year eight we made these matching bracelets. My teacher said to give it to someone important to me, whenever I think it's the right time" I explained. As I spoke, his smile grew. "Thank you, Kat. I love it."

We sat all together, including Jack and Ben. "Little brother's growing up, huh?" Jack chuckled, ruffling Luke's hair. "Watch the fringe" Luke groaned, straightening out his hair. "Twenty minutes" Liz reminded us as her and Andrew rolled Luke's suitcases outside. We all nodded and went back to our conversation.
