Chapter 10

Third person
Anne awakes to the loud sound of arguing coming from the kitchen.

It's Matthew and Marilla...
They are arguing about her.

"She needs to learn a lesson" Marillas voice rang through the house loud and clear.

"She's just a kid who's exploring new things" Matthews groggy voice said in return.

"We shouldn't give in Matthew"

"How will she contact her friends"

"Fine but one more mistake from her and it will be taken away for a week"
Anne smiles, they are talking about giving her phone back to her.

She decides to get up and head downstairs for breakfast.
As she arrives downstairs she sees Matthew at the table smirking whilst Marilla rolls her eyes
Anne pours her cereal and as she sits down Marilla slams the phone on the table "last warning" she says before going upstairs
Matthew gives Anne a sly wink and Anne mouths thank you back to him.

Once Anne gets out the shower she sees Diana has tried to call her.

She sits on her bed and dials Diana's number.
"Hey Anne I've been trying to contact you" Diana exclaims loudly through the phone.

"Remember Anne the pep rally is tonight so make sure you have your cheerleading uniform ready"

"Is that all?" Anne says rolling her eyes
They chat for a bit before Anne carries on getting changed.

She decides to wear a pair of black skinny jeans and a black hoodie.
She put her hair in a messy bun and put barley any makeup on.

She didn't feel to good after the party and didn't feel as though she should dress up
She plans on putting more makeup on later for the pep rally as it's in front of the whole school
She texts the group chat that she's leaving earlier this morning as she dressed quickly then she leaves the house.

As she walks down the road she feels a presence watching her.
It carry's on for about five minutes and she can feel the presence get closer.
She doesn't turn around.

Suddenly she feels two hands on her shoulders
"Leave me alone Gilbert" she says not even needing to turn around.

"Aww c'mon carrots, don't you miss me?" He says smirking.

"Nope I'm good" she says as she speeds up
He sighs.

Then she feels his arms wrap around her waist and pull her back towards him.
She giggles quietly hoping he didn't hear her
He spins her round to face him.

His hazel eyes staring into hers.
"Are you sure you didn't miss me?" He whispers grinning, his soothing hands still resting on her hips.

A part of her wanted to kiss him, to let him keep his hands on her waist, to tell him she did miss him, to let him stare into her eyes
She shakes it off.

"No I'm fine" she snaps before walking away.
Gilbert looked hurt.

Once they arrive at the designated place they wait in silence for the rest of the squad to show up.
She can feel his eyes on her.
Her heart starts beating fast. She was about to snap.

Then a car pulled up and Josie was at the wheel she beeped for them to get in. They scrambled in. It turns out Josie picked up the rest on the way over and that meant Gilbert and Anne were the last ones therefore they had to sit in the very back. Squashed up tightly.
This is going to be a very long ride,Anne thought.
