As soon as I opened my eyes, I gasped loudly. My hands shot up to cover my mouth, and a lump formed in my throat. I looked down at Lapis, who was on one knee, holding a small box up to me. It was open, and revealed a beautiful diamond ring. The bluenette stared up at me hopefully, and I noticed that her legs were slightly shaking - she was nervous. I couldn't help but feel tongue-tied, and the lump in my throat only grew stronger. I was speechless.
"Peridot...I-I know that we're only 18...b-but I can't see myself ever loving anyone else...but y-you." she shakily claimed. "...a-and you're one of the most important people in my life...if not the most. A-and this is my question to you...d-do you feel the same way I do?" she asked sincerely. I stared down at her for almost a whole minute in silence, and I felt like just screaming right then and there. "....y-yes I do!" I squealed, smiling widely.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Peridot...will you marry me?" she had a serious expression on her face, and the tears in my eyes could no longer be held back. "YES!" I screamed, and Lapis's eyebrows shot up in surprise. The bluenette stood up and took the ring out of the small box. I held my finger out, and she slid it on eagerly. I then squealed loudly again, and tackled her with a tight hug. Lapis yelped at first, then giggled as she hugged back tightly as well.
"WOOOOO!!!!" I heard Steven scream, and I looked over to the side. The boy had stars in his eyes, and everyone else looked happy as well. "Yaaaayyyy!!" Pumpkin cheered, hopping up and down. "Congrats to the new fianceesssss!!!" Amethyst shouted, clapping loudly. I turned back to Lapis, and crashed my lips into hers, and she quickly kissed back passionately. I tangled my fingers into her hair pulling her closer, and I smiled through the kiss. We pulled away shortly after, and I grinned at Lapis.
She gave me a big-toothy grin that I had never seen before, and I blushed again. "Happy birthday, Peridot." she muttered barely above a whisper. "I love you, Lapis!" I gushed, hugging her once again, embracing her warmth. I held onto her, and never wanted to let go. I was going to spend the rest of my life with Lapis Lazuli, I would take care of her, she would take care of me. I was overjoyed. "This couldn't get any gayer." Garnet then stated. Lapis and I laughed, still holding the embrace.
"I can't believe how far we've come..." Lapis murmured. "I know...I'm very surprised." I joked, smiling. Lapis chuckled, and held me closer. I stared at my beautiful diamond ring as I traced my finger up and down Lapis's tie. "You know as soon as we get home I'm getting you out of that suit, right?"
