Will be editing the chapters and re-uploading them as I go. I've changed the point of view and might also make some minor adjustments here and there 🧍🏾♀️

The cool air that blew into the car kissed the skin of her warm cheeks, chest and arms causing goosebumps to appear on the surface. Brie, along the ride home, had rolled the windows down to get a better glimpse of the night sky above the city. She delighted in the way it looked—inundated with millions of stars as the moon glistened like a giant gem among them.
Star gazing was one of her favourite past activities, especially on her way home from the hospital. Working all day and well into the afternoon meant clocking out and heading home when most of the world was already in bed and or getting ready to go there. It also meant coming home to little to no traffic and people offering tranquillity in which she could admire the world as it slept and breathed, especially the sky.
She also enjoyed looking at the buildings on that side of the city, it was also why she rolled the window down. Some of the properties held the archaic touches of the period they were built and she loved taking in all the details. Despite having moved there several months prior, Brie still hadn't gotten used to any of the things she saw, and she hoped she never did.
Clutching her jacket and her purse to her side as the car inevitably stopped at the curb just in front of her apartment building, exiting the taxi, Brie offered a faint “Thank you,” to the driver as she handed the money to him.
The man didn't respond, instead, he silently took the cash and when his customer stepped away from his vehicle, he drove off.
Bustling through the door that led into the building still clutching her purse and jacket, the tired figure headed straight for the elevator. She pressed the button that would cause the lift to take her to the fourth floor where her apartment was, and after a few seconds, the doors slid shut.
The entire time she stood in the quiet vicinity, Brie envisioned herself taking off her clothes as soon as she was shut away. It was a euphoric thought; it was also always a euphoric feeling, taking off one's clothes at the end of a long, stressful day.
In the same thought, she also played out what she'd do thereafter: she'd heat the leftover pasta she'd made the night before, shower only to come back and enjoy the food with reruns of Friends playing. She'd watch an episode or two before retiring to bed— her nightly routine for as long as she could remember.
At first, Brie wasn't drawn to the sitcom but after one evening at home with nothing good on the television, she decided to sit through a few minutes of the program and it was there that she fell in love with the show. To be fair, she fell in love with Phoebe, the most vibrant character among the group of friends. She was the light of the show in Brie's opinion and now that she'd accepted how good it was it became her respite after a long, hard day in the world.
Making it into the tiny apartment, the figure in the scrubs immediately stripped. She tossed her purse on the table and hung her jacket behind the door. Whilst she undid the french braids in her hair, she rummaged through the fridge, locating the food and sticking it in the microwave. And as for the rest of her plans, she made it to the bathroom, running under the shower, delighting over the warmth of the water.

Shortly after slipping into something comfortable, Brie grabbed the food from the microwave and tossed it onto a plate. Steaming and all, she stuck a fork into it and lifted a bite to her mouth.Grabbing a beer from the fridge, she took both her plate and the bottle over to the couch where she placed them on the table in front of her. The remote for the tv lay right beside her, so she reached out and took it, flicking on the large screen. She flicked until she found the channel that aired the old episodes of Friends and only when it came on did she reach for her food.
